✍️ Some people may ask: “How can I stay peaceful when difficult situations arise?”. We must begin by understanding: we are where we are. Situations happen—often without warning, often beyond our control. We cannot always prevent or change them.
But here is what we can control: the way we respond.
When difficulty arrives, our minds rush forward—overthinking, catastrophizing, creating stories about how terrible things are. We make situations heavier by adding layers of worry and fear on top of what is already challenging.
But if we pause, if we become mindful of our breath in that moment, if we notice our thoughts without getting swept away—something shifts. The situation doesn’t disappear, but we stop making it worse. We create space for clarity, and in that clarity, we can see what we should actually do to help the situation, instead of just worrying and feeling defeated.
In that mindful pause, we might also remember something we’ve forgotten: right now, countless conditions are still nourishing our life. We are alive. We can breathe. We can eat. We can walk. These are profound gifts, genuine happiness—but we rarely see them because our minds are too busy racing toward worry, too consumed by what’s wrong to notice what remains right.
This is what mindfulness offers in difficult moments: not power to control what happens, but wisdom to see clearly what helpful action we can take, to breathe consciously, to remember that even in difficulty, we are still held by life, still capable of responding wisely instead of simply reacting.
The situation is what it is. But we can change how we meet it—with presence instead of panic, with clarity instead of confusion, with wise action instead of helpless worry.
Peace in difficult times doesn’t mean nothing bothers us. It means we stop making everything worse by losing ourselves in our thoughts. It means we stay grounded enough to see what we can actually do, then do it with a calm heart.
May you and all beings be well, happy, and at peace.

We are spiritually minded, energetic souls that want to share experience, teachings, and knowledge as well as have that exchange with others. We honor all practices that honor the divinity of the white light and love, no matter the spiritual path that guides you. When we live from the heart acceptance, healing, and growth takes place. Together we can all bring positive changes into our lives, the lives of others, as well as our communities. Our vision was set into motion many years ago, and we have been blessed to have opportunities to evolve into better versions of ourselves and act on part of the vision. Having heard the voice of our community here in Abilene and through the support of family, friends, and other amazing practitioners we opened Rose Quartz in October of 2019. It is a space that honors all life, all paths, and allows others to experience holistic ways to become the best versions of themselves. We offer a retail space consisting of multicultural gifts, tools, and accessories as well as offering holistic services to enhance lives.
Here’s some insight about the Rose Quartz family team
Meet Sherry: Sherry brings over 25 years of healthcare experience in western medicine. Although she holds an advanced degree in nursing, she has always been fascinated by the principles of therapeutic touch and working with one’s magnetic field to reduce pain and improve overall well-being. Throughout her career she has practiced holistic nursing with a deep understanding that we are all complex sources of energy with many moving parts.
Several years ago, Sherry became interested in herbs and started growing her own culinary garden. Her love of herbs grew into learning more about their medicinal properties and eventually into the craft of making her own oils and tinctures. She has since begun an intense study of herbs and herbal medicine. Being a career multi-tasker, her practice with energy work has grown, and she has received numerous certifications. Among her many accomplishments are Level 1 Reiki, Chakra Healing, Crystal Healing, and Advanced Angelic Healing certifications. She also holds certifications in holistic massage and as a Laughter Yoga Leader.
Meet Mo: Mo is not unique, but she can definitely not be categorized. She has had a buried but close relationship with the energetic field from a young age. In 2011, as self-imposed limitations began to be released, she allowed her natural gifts to become a positive focus in her life. She embraced her connectedness to all sentient beings, and her life took on a whole new meaning and her horizons were opened. Her desire to help others become healthier, spiritually, mentally, and physically, and began to show through her actions.
Mo is passionate about her work with the homeless in the area by assisting in delivering meals, clothing, and survival necessities, She also takes the time to listen, and because she allows the light of love to shine through her, our brothers and sisters on the streets know that they matter. She leaves them with the knowledge that when they are ready for change, she will guide them to the resources.
Mo received her Reiki Master certification in 2019 and continues to broaden her training and knowledge base in energy work.
We know that life is always changing and that we often fight against our innate purpose. When we release, let go, and embrace the moments before us, we allow beautiful changes to take place. It is never too late to embrace and allow your gifts to evolve.
All life is sacred, all life deserves respect, and all life is worth loving and embracing. It would be our honor to assist you in your journey to embracing your sacredness. We all matter, we are all worth it, and we all deserve it....peace,love,light,and healing energy!
