Equality means giving everyone the same resources and opportunities to succeed. Fairness means recognizing that not everyone starts from the same place and making sure people have what they need to reach the same goals.

During Black History Month, we reflect on the importance of understanding the difference. Fairness acknowledges that some individuals and communities have faced historical barriers, limited access, and unfair challenges that still impact opportunities today.

When we work toward fairness, we help create healthier, stronger communities for everyone.
