Hawley, Texas- Rebecca Jo Doss, 51, passed away February 16, 2026.
Memorial service is pending.

Rebecca Doss was born under a full moon on Sunday, March 18, 1973 at 3:45 a.m., at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, to Bobbye Jo and Gwyndolyn Wooley.

She was raised in Hurst, Texas, and attended West Hurst Elementary, Hurst Junior High, and L.D. Bell High School, graduating in 1991. She was an athlete at heart and played softball not just in her youth, but well into adulthood—because quitting was never really her thing.

Rebecca spent more than 30 years in the construction industry. She was a fierce advocate for women in construction and a living example that grit, humor, and persistence can carry you anywhere.

Her greatest accomplishment, by far, was raising her two children, Kristin and Alton “Reedie,” and watching the people they became. Through them, she found her greatest joy: being “MeMaw” to her beloved grandchildren. Motherhood was her pride; grandmotherhood was her masterpiece.

She was an avid doodler and drawer. She loved people, music, stories, Texas backroads, and talking to strangers like old friends. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and welcome—often with humor and usually with coffee.

Her faith journey began in church as a place of community and joy. Later in life, her faith deepened profoundly. She studied scripture daily, grew fearless about death, and found peace in Christ that she carried with clarity and conviction. She was a born-again Christian who believed not just with her words, but with her courage.

Rebecca was called home on February 16, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbye Jo and Gwyndolyn Wooley; her sister Deborah Gay Wooley; her sister Karen Ann White; and her brother-in-law Steve White.

She is survived by the love-of-her-life Kenny of Hawley, Tx; her 2 children, daughter Kristin Wilson and husband Aron of Rising Star, Tx, and son Alton Reedie Lea and wife Ashley of North Richland Hills, Tx; 2 stepchildren, Clayton Doss and wife Eden of Clyde, Tx and Haley Young and husband Jace of Eula, Tx; grandchildren Leighton Wilson, Wade Wilson, Wyatt Wilson, Avery Jo Wilson, Leena Lea, Everli Doss, Briggs Young, Bryson Doss and numerous family, friends, and a lifetime of stories—most of them funny, some of them hard, all of them honest.

Rebecca wanted to be remembered not for how she died, but for how fully she lived, how deeply she loved, and how unafraid she became.

Abilene, Texas- Dennis White, 79, passed away February 11, 2026.

Dennis Manning White passed away surrounded by family on February 10, 2026.

Dennis was born in 1946 in Tremonton, Utah, the second oldest of eight children born to Dr. Hartley White and Margaret Ruth Manning White. He cherished his boyhood on Apricot Avenue in Salt Lake City and often reminisced about growing up just three houses from the Utah State Capitol. He liked to say the Capitol grounds and nearby City Creek Canyon were his personal playground. He told stories of catching fish with his bare hands in City Creek and later in life he found joy fishing with his children and grandchildren. Those early adventures outdoors sparked a natural love for the Scouting program, and he cherished going on scouting adventures with people he loved.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dennis served as a young man in the Eastern States Mission. He had a deep love for the scriptures and spent his life studying, teaching, and sharing his testimony. He shared the gospel freely and helped many people find direction and purpose in their lives. Dennis had a clear understanding of the plan of salvation and made sure his family understood it as well — that this life is a time of refining, learning, and walking in the footsteps of the Savior. Throughout much of his adult life, he carefully recorded his thoughts and beliefs in books he hoped would guide his loved ones and help them understand what he had come to know and love. Dennis was honest with an unwavering commitment to his covenants. His faith in Jesus Christ was an anchor in his life.

Dennis had a lifelong passion for learning. He earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Utah and was accepted into a PhD program. That plan was interrupted when he was drafted into the United States Air Force in 1971, where he became a pilot flying C-130 aircraft. His military career, and later his work with Southern Air Transport, took him around the world and gave him a lifetime of stories about people and places. Later, Dennis earned an MBA from Hardin-Simmons University, graduating on the Dean’s Honor Roll. After his flying career, he pursued a variety of endeavors — from teaching math to working long, hot hours in the oil and gas industry. His gift for mathematics and learning blessed his own family as well. Each of his children benefited from his patient instruction, spending many hours at the dining room table as he helped them through high school. Although Abilene, Texas became home, he dearly loved road trips back to Utah as often possible.

In 1969, Dennis married Arja van Vemde, and together they welcomed five children: Ana, Nathan, Holly, Joshua, and Caroline. They later divorced. In 1983, he married Sherry Porter and with that marriage, Tasha and Shantel joined the family. Dennis and Sherry later welcomed a son, Daniel. But eight children were not enough, and they completed their family through the adoption of Crystal and Joe. Dennis loved each of his children and was devoted to his family.

In 2003, Dennis experienced one of the greatest heartbreaks of his life when his oldest son, Nathan, was killed during the Iraq War. It was a devastating loss. We take comfort in the assurance of a joyful reunion between father and son.

Dennis was truly a jack of all trades and could fix or build almost anything. He believed in hard work and instilled that same strong work ethic in his family. He stayed active throughout his life and could often be seen walking to the gym in his reflective vest, carrying his 20-pound hand weights with determination.

On the Sunday before his passing, Dennis and Sherry celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Together they created a home where everyone was welcome, and everyone was loved. Their door was always open.

Dennis loves his family.
He loves God.
And we love him.
