Snorkel Report:
1st thing I found was a long fishing line🧵 entangled on the coral reef 🏵 😱😰😭😭.
I was so 💔 bc I haven't snorkeled in a long time, but then realized I was there for the Mission! Save ocean wildlife. 🤙🏽 I started untangling most of it loose, but was caught around 2 sea urchin. Diving down I got another 3 feet loose to find the weight and realized it had a 2nd line on another reef cluster beside it.
I was afraid the waves getting rougher would send my salvaged pieces further into a cranny,but I got enough wrapped in a ball to rest it in place in a dip of the influx and swam to shore to get my nail clippers.

🍄 Found the coral again and went back to work, freeing the line and holding my breath and ofcourse drinking 😤 some saltwater 💦 bc I needed to relax & be calm to hold my air longer. And there was a heavy 🔽 triangle weight anchor that was what was preventing me- but I did it! 🧜‍♀️

The reef was so beautiful today and after 20 so minutes i was getting numb hands from the cold and holding the fishingline debris, i couldn't swim faster to warm up. .....but my reward from the
OCEAN 🌊 STEWARDSHIP, mālama kai.

☆ Not all female octopuses kill their mates, but it is common in many species for the female to kill or eat the male after mating, or for the male to die shortly after if he is not eaten. The female will also die after laying her eggs, a process often triggered by a self-destructive biological death spiral that begins after mating. ☆

🚫 Uncool fact: 😤 Fishing line debris is a major environmental hazard because it is durable and can entangle and kill marine life. 🐢🦈🐡

New spotted fish: Huge Bluefin swimming solo and hiding when I swam down and saw these HUGE eyes & teeth 👀🦷....a Barred Filefish! She seemed to be nesr guarding and was dark black/purplish in color.
