Beatrice Dante, 83, of Churchville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Born in Elkton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Caldwell, Sr. and Mary B. (Dunn) Caldwell.

Beatrice was the beloved wife of James G. Dante, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to James F. (Lori) Dante, Michael P. (Cathy) Dante, David A. Dante, and Melissa D. Desi. She was a loving grandmother to James E. (Allison) Dante, Julianna M. Dante, and Samantha G. Desi, and a cherished great-grandmother to Harper J. Dante, James Declan Dante, and Oliver B. Dante. She loved deeply her “daughters in heart,” Lori and Cathy, as well as Ron Desi.

Beatrice lived by her personal motto, “Faith, family and friends,” which was evident in every aspect of her life. She had a gift for connection—she loved talking, gathering, and making others feel welcome. To her, no one was a stranger. She was attentive, a wonderful listener, and deeply compassionate, always striving to ensure those around her felt loved and valued.

Beatrice was a woman of deep faith and rich spirituality. A devoted Catholic, she volunteered at St. Joan of Arc Church and later at St. Margaret Church. She believed strongly in the value of lasting love and dedicated time to supporting couples through the church as a Marriage Sponsor Couple with her husband, helping guide others toward strong and enduring marriages. She also supported people through the RCIA (OCIA) process.

Beatrice was a passionate advocate for the visually impaired. She and her husband successfully initiated Harford County Public Schools’ low and no vision program for students who are blind, later supporting students as a volunteer. Professionally, she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Warren Lesch for over 30 years, where she was known for her dedication and compassion.

She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether spending time with family and friends, making spaces beautiful, or enjoying the wonders of nature. A highlight was gathering with her family in Cape May, New Jersey for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, D. Howard Caldwell, Thomas Caldwell, William Caldwell, Sr., Dorothy Caldwell, John Caldwell, Jr., Martha Caldwell, and Joanne Wolfe.

Jenaro Hernandez, age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Genaro Hernandez and Ines (Ramos) Hernandez.

Mr. Hernandez was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nena Labrador Hernandez, and a sister, Lilian Ducos.

He is survived by his loving son, Dr. JJ Hernandez; daughter-in-law Avelaine Trabel; his cherished grandchildren (who called him Abu), Julian Hernandez and Amelia Hernandez; and his sisters, Maria Magdalena Hernandez, Evangelina Hernandez, Sonia Hernandez, and Norma Hernandez.

Jenaro was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Abingdon, Maryland.

Over the years, he held a variety of occupations, reflecting his strong work ethic and versatility. He worked as a carpenter for Hausmann Industries in New Jersey for 15 years, briefly served as a pharmacy manager in New York City, and sold Kirby vacuum cleaners. At one time, he owned a small diner on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

In his younger years, Jenaro was an accomplished boxer and competed as a featherweight in the Pan American Games. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time at the reservoir along the New Jersey/New York border, as well as a local pond in Glen Rock. He also had a passion for gardening, where he grew both flowers and vegetables—especially bitter melons—and loved cooking both Puerto Rican and American cuisine.

Jenaro was a devoted baseball fan and especially loved the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards. Known for his orderly nature, he took pride in keeping things clean and well-organized. Above all, he will be remembered for his happy-go-lucky spirit, kind heart, politeness, friendliness, and for always being a true gentleman.

Roger Dale Kregar, age 81, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond Lee Kregar and Gladys (Gerlock) Kregar.

Roger was the beloved husband of the late Lorene Mae (Stanley) Kregar. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his grandchild, Megan Kregar; his brother, Robert Kregar; his sister, Linda Kregar; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Stanley; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Stanley, Elzy Durwood Stanley, Jerry Stanley, and Larry Stanley.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Rebecca (John) Ayre, Patricia (Brad) Atkinson, and Carolyn (the late David) Maines. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachel, Jill, Chrissy, Chris (who was raised like a son), Sean, Morgan, Jackie, and Ethan; as well as 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great – great grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers in law Johnny and Wayne. And his precious companion, his Yorkie, April.

Roger was a hard-working man whose life was defined by dedication to his family and his community. After the passing of his father at a young age, he stepped up to help support his family, even leaving school early to do so. His work ethic carried through his entire life. His work ethic was unparalleled, often working long hours to ensure the comfort and security of his family.

A skilled handyman, Roger was known for his ability to fix anything, always lending a hand to family, friends, and neighbors—no one ever needed to call a tradesman when Roger was around. He was deeply involved in his church, Edgewood Assembly of God, where he helped build the church itself, as well as constructed floats and Christmas sets for church plays. Known for his presence and stature, he often portrayed a Roman soldier in church programs.

Roger’s greatest accomplishment was being a father. He taught his children to enjoy every moment life has to offer and was a constant source of love, guidance, and strength—a protector, mentor, hero, and friend. He shared a special bond with his wife, Lorene, caring for her devotedly as her companion, chauffeur, and caregiver throughout her illness.

He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, always joking and playing with his grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil with candy and snacks. Affectionately known as “Pop-Pop,” he extended that same warmth and kindness to all of the children from Mom’s daycare.

Roger will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous spirit, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and willingness to help others.

Clay Hall, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Little Britain, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ernest Alexander Hall and the late Ethel Ross (Bauguess) Hall.

Mr. Hall was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. While in the service he was on the boxing team. He was the longtime owner and operator of Hall’s Furniture Store in Aberdeen, where he served his community with dedication and integrity for many years.

He was a man of many interests and found great joy telling jokes, antique cars and fishing. He loved vacationing at the beach and having a large garden. In his younger years he loved riding dirt bikes with family and friends. Mr. Hall was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he actively participated in the Adam Group and valued the fellowship of his church family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Hall.

He is lovingly survived by his children: Thomas Hall, Timothy Hall and his wife Robin, and Tamara Hall; his brother, Clyde Hall; and his sister, Susie Brandle. When living with Tim and Robin he enjoyed all their animals, especially their little chihuahua Niña; he really loved her. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Hall’s life was marked by service, hard work, and devotion to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Joan Ann Halligan, age 90, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Sidney D. Raymond and Mary Goldie (Cartzendafner) Raymond. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard Henry Halligan Sr.

Joan was a faithful homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family, raising not only her children but also helping to raise many of her grandchildren. Her family was truly her life. She was deeply involved in her church activities and found joy in simple pleasures such as bird watching and gardening.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Rick Halligan Jr., and her daughter, Beth Walsh.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Dawn Cumby, and Timothy Halligan. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Samantha Cumby, Rachel Cumby, Shawn Halligan, Justin Halligan, Bobby Walsh, Michael Walsh, Kevin Walsh, Timothy Halligan, and Chrissy Halligan; as well as four great-grandchildren. William Edward “Ed” Brady, age 82, of Bel Air, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Ed was the son of the late Wells Lindquist Brady and Helen (Bennett) Olsen. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician based at NAS Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, and on the USS Mitscher (DL-2), and carried that sense of dedication and service throughout his life. He was a communications engineer for Sun Oil for over two decades.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Ann (Esterling) Brady; his daughter, Susan Brady Lawless (Christopher) of Contoocook, New Hampshire; and his sons, Michael Brady (Heidi) of Bel Air, Maryland; and Kevin Brady (Katherine) of Peachtree City, Georgia. The joy of his life was his nine cherished grandchildren: Catie Brady, Colin Lawless, Anna Brady, Ben Brady, Ethan Brady, Riley Lawless, Gavin Lawless, Ryan Brady, and Stella Brady. He is also survived by his siblings: Kay Goldberg (Bill) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Louise Stewart (Rob) of Stansbury Park, Utah; Annette Fugal (Jens) of Marysville, Tennessee; Jean Arnott (Ron) of Mentone, California; Arthur Brady (Michele) of Tooele, Utah; Carol Dupuis (Vic) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Evelyn Hawley (Jeff), also of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Brady (Francine) of San Bernardino, California. Ed considered himself blessed beyond measure that from his youngest years through adulthood, his life was full of the love and guidance of three extraordinary women: his mother, Helen; as well as Erma Bennett and Maxine (Heaton) Brady. Although they, too, predeceased him, their lessons, care, and examples of selfless service stayed with him every day of his life.

In his retirement, Ed dedicated much of his time to the restoration of the historic Aberdeen B&O Train Station. To his delight, he was able to celebrate the completion of the station’s exterior renovation this year. Ed, along with Mary Ann, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints in Regina, Canada, where they dedicated their efforts to the people of the First Nations. He served many roles in the church but enjoyed teaching children’s Sunday School and coordinating chapel maintenance the most.

Born in Aiken, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Henry Forbes Coudon and Mary Elizabeth (Dietrich) Coudon. Ann was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Robbins, Sr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2019.

Ann dedicated 20 years of her career as a teacher’s aide at John Archer School, retiring in 1998. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were a central part of her life.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Elizabeth Coudon, Henry Coudon, Jr., Clarita Coudon, and Kathryn Acker.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Charles Robbins, Jr. and his wife Lisa; Susan Robbins; Deborah Pancaldo and her husband Vinny; and Melissa Robbins and her wife Jen. She is also survived by her brothers, Thomas Coudon and Edward Coudon, along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

Ann will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her kindness, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew and loved her.

Mary Margaret Quinn (aka Penny), age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Tony Baltren and Genevieve Anna (Lipinski) Baltren.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late William Paul Quinn Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving children: Brian and wife Denise Quinn, Jeff Quinn, Scott and wife Angelika Quinn. She was a cherished grandmother to Taylor Quinn, Makenzie Quinn, Katelyn Martinez, and Keira Martinez. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Paul and wife Kathy Quinn and her sister-in-law Nancy and husband Bill Bonadio, along with many dear nieces and nephews.

Being a mother and grandmother was Mary’s greatest joy in life. She never missed a game, concert, or recital, always showing her unwavering love and support. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for laughter that brought joy to those around her. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and deep devotion to her family. Her grandchildren, in particular, were a constant source of pride and happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Mary dedicated 30 years of service as a school bus driver with Baltimore County Schools before retiring in 2002. She took great pride in her work and in the lives she touched along the way. In her quieter moments, she found peace and happiness tending to the plants and flowers in her garden.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Helen Marie Ferguson, 87, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at the Senator Bob Hooper House, following health complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Grundy, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bascom Ratliff and Glady Ratliff (née Stiltner). Helen was a loving wife and cherished companion to Thomas David Ferguson, Sr. Their life together was marked by a shared love of travel, deep devotion, and enduring faith.

Family was at the heart of Helen’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother who found great joy in caring for those she loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of happiness and pride.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobbie Gill; her sisters, Loretta, Vivian, and Ola; and her brothers, Lee Allen, Leon, and Everett.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas David Ferguson, Sr.; her daughter, Alicia Gill Palmer; her son, Charles Robert Gill; her stepson, Thomas David Ferguson, Jr. and his wife, Shirley; and her stepson, Christopher Scott Ferguson and his wife, Kathy. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Daniel A. Nevin, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Leander Sherman Nevin and the late Marion Louise (Disney) Nevin.

Daniel was the beloved husband of Cynthia Lewis Nevin, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Kathleen (Salah) Khoury and Jennifer (Jonathan) Bosley, and a proud and loving grandfather to Megan Shea, Brady Shea, and Hannah Khoury, all of whom he adored deeply.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Daniel is survived by his brother, Sherman Nevin.

Daniel honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He went on to serve his community with distinction as a K-9 Police Officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, retiring in 1992 after 22 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he worked for 10 years as a mail carrier at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was also a member of American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air.

A man of many interests, Daniel was an avid golfer and found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his generous spirit and commitment to helping others, volunteering with Community Hospice of Maryland, where he was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2005.

Daniel’s life began with a remarkable story, as he was the first baby in Maryland to be saved after being born with RH factor.

Patrick Aloysius Redmond, age 64, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Camden, New Jersey, Patrick was the beloved son of the late John Joseph Redmond and Therese Marie (O'Donnell) Redmond.

In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Redmond.

He is lovingly survived by his siblings: Karen (Sam) Johnston, John (Patrice) Redmond, and Michael (Debbie) Redmond; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Sean Redmond, Timothy Redmond, Kelley Wood, Kaitlyn (Chris) Jarman; great nieces Samantha Rose Jarman and Theresa Louise Jarman; and his beloved dog Rory Gallagher.

After attending Bel Air High School, Patrick went on to graduate from Mount Saint Mary’s College. Patrick was a very talented musician with a passion for playing guitar. He was best known as the frontman for the Route 66 Band and shared his love of music with many talented musicians throughout Harford County. He was a familiar and beloved presence at local venues and events, including the Bel Air Christmas Parade, The Tower, and Sean Bolan’s, where he brought joy to audiences with his performances.

In addition to his musical talents, Patrick dedicated time to education as a substitute teacher at Bel Air High School and contributed to the local community through his work at the radio station at Harford Community College. He was known for his warm personality and kind spirit, someone who truly never met a stranger and was loved by many friends. He lived by the creed “What’s the worst that can happen?” and shared that with all he knew.

Abingdon Volunteer Fire Compay honored the recipients of the Lifesaving Award, Assistant Chief Jesse Spruell, Captain Ron Evans, and Firefighter Patrick Blasdell, for their actions during a critical emergency on September 6, 2025. Their quick thinking, professionalism, and teamwork made a profound difference when every second mattered.
