Our brain is the most complicated structure that exists in nature, a product of millions of years of evolution. A seizure in the brain can be compared to a short circuit in our electronic gadgets. There is a temporary loss of function and it takes some time thereafter for the brain to recover. Your brain needs to restart!

Abington Neurological Associates providers are leaders in the field in the use of botulinum toxin to treat a number of disorders. Our physicians perform hundreds of injections each year and train other neurologists across the region in best practices in the use of Botox. One way to lower your risk of dementia is to look after your heart. Smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity all damage the blood vessels and increase the risk for having a stroke or a heart attack, which could contribute to developing dementia in later life. These problems can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices and should be treated effectively if they do occur.

If you have concerns about your memory or are caring for an older person with cognitive issues, consider talking to a doctor about it. Call us at 215-957-9250 to learn more.

Our Story

We have been a member of the Abington community for more than 53 years now. The practice was started in 1966 by Dr. Albert D. Wagman, who partnered with Dr. B. Franklin Diamond to create Abington Neurological Associates (ANA), the Abington Stroke Center, and the Sleep Disorders Center. Since those early years, ANA has grown into one of the largest private neurology practices in Montgomery and Bucks County. If you need to make an appointment, please call us at 215-957-9250.

Since our research center opened in 2009, we have conducted over 70 clinical trials with the help of more than 350 participants. This work is more important than ever: for example, 280,000 Pennsylvanians have Alzheimer’s, and this number is projected to rise to 320,000 by 2025. Clinical trials provide a path to treatments for this disease. Please contact our Clinical Trials Research Office if you are interested in learning more information about any of the trials that we offer at (215) 957-9250.
