There's a good chance that among the first doctors to care for your baby in the hospital will be a neonatologist. This clinician will likely see your newborn in the delivery room soon after delivery. Neonatologists are pediatricians who have had additional training to specialize in the care of newborns. A neonatologist is experienced in caring for healthy babies as well as those with health problems. A neonatal nurse practitioner is a nurse who has undergone advanced training in newborn care. They also provided gift bags to all the patients in the Maternal Observation & Monitoring Unit (MOMU). Each year it is amazing to see the generosity and love that is poured into this project.
