Sometimes we get caught up in what it means to be “balanced.” In today’s culture, that idea can start to feel constraining. When you take a step back, building a balanced meal is often much simpler than it’s made out to be.
Some days you may want a meal that includes a little of everything, and other days you may be craving something more comforting. What makes a meal balanced isn’t about checking boxes, it’s about how you support it.
If you’re in the mood for a burger, great. Adding a side salad alongside it brings in variety and fiber, while still honoring the comfort and satisfaction the burger provides.
Knowing that balance is flexible, personal, and allowed to change from day to day helps us eat in a way that feels supportive, sustainable, and human.
