Meet the faces behind our women-led company.

“For Jaipur Living, it was never singularly about the rug. This business was a conduit to a group of women who had perfected a craft that needed to be seen and elevated.” - Asha Chaudhary, President and Chief Executive Officer

This year, our Jaipur artisans and extended family gathered in a century-old haveli in Rajasthan to celebrate Holi in its most authentic form. Music flowed through the courtyards, color filled the air, and flower petals blanketed the rugs — a tribute to a tradition that is vibrant, rooted, and full of life. The Jaipur Living way.

Our Story

In 1978, Nand Kishore Chaudhary (NKC) founded Jaipur Rugs in India upon the principle of dignity, working alongside so-called “untouchables” and subverting deep-rooted practices of prejudice and discrimination.

Today Jaipur Living carries on this mission by creating beautiful lives for its customers, employees, and artisans—all while preserving the age-old craftsmanship of handmade rugs.

Through social initiatives and the Jaipur Rugs Foundation, we’re proud to uplift more than 40,000 artisans in 600 villages by providing them with a livable wage, access to health care, leadership education, and opportunities for personal growth and development.
