👻 Ghost the Postpartum Expectations👻

1️⃣You didn’t just give birth to a baby — you were reborn too.
Postpartum is a becoming. You’re meeting the newest version of yourself — she deserves care, rest, and reverence.

2️⃣Six weeks isn’t enough time to heal.
Your recovery doesn’t follow a calendar. Healing takes months — sometimes years — and that’s normal.

3️⃣It’s okay to say no.
No to visitors. No to pressure. No to pretending you’re fine. Boundaries are protection, not rejection.

4️⃣Normalize holding the mom, not just the baby.
She needs hands that feed her, arms that hold her, and space that honors her too.

5️⃣Depletion isn’t normal — it’s a red flag.
Exhaustion isn’t a badge of honor. It’s a call for support and rest.

6️⃣It’s not just about a healthy baby.
A healthy baby begins with a cared-for mother. We heal families by healing her first.

🌿 Postpartum isn’t an afterthought — it’s sacred transformation.

👻 GHOST fear-based birth practices 👻
Let’s stop letting fear run the birth room and start remembering what birth was designed to be — wise, intuitive, and powerful.

✨ Here are 6 truths they don’t tell you:

1️⃣ Pitocin is not the same as oxytocin
The synthetic version may start contractions, but it doesn’t create the same hormonal flow of love, safety, and connection. Oxytocin — your body’s own — is what fuels bonding, pleasure, and calm during birth.

2️⃣ Vaginal exams do not predict labor
A cervix is not a crystal ball. You can stay at 2 cm for days and have your baby hours later — or be 5 cm with no active pattern. Birth unfolds in its own divine timing.

3️⃣ Big babies can be born vaginally
Your body doesn’t grow babies too big for it to birth. With freedom to move, instinct to guide, and patience to allow — bodies and babies work together perfectly.

4️⃣ Birth is not a medical emergency
Birth is a natural, physiological event — not a crisis waiting to happen. Emergencies can occur, but fear-based management creates tension, not safety.

5️⃣ Induction for convenience isn’t care — it’s control
True care honors your body’s readiness and your baby’s timing. Inducing because it’s “easier to schedule” isn’t serving you — it’s serving the system.

6️⃣ Compliance is not the same as informed choice
You don’t owe blind obedience to policies. You deserve information, options, and the right to say yes, no, or not yet. That’s what real empowerment looks like.

💫 It’s time to ghost the fear, reclaim your intuition, and remember: birth is not something to manage — it’s something to trust.

👻Ghost Your Birth Fears 👻

1️⃣ Identify your fears – Shine a light on what’s holding you back.
2️⃣ Reframe with truth – Swap fear based stories for empowering truths.
3️⃣ Find wisdom in surrender – let go of expectation, honor your body’s intelligence, and discover strength in the art of yielding.
4️⃣ Trust your intuition – your body and heart already hold the answers your mind seeks.
5️⃣ Build your support system – Surround yourself with people who honor your journey.
6️⃣ Stay rooted in flexibility – birth unfolds in its own time and rhythm; leaning into the unknown is an act of strength.

✨ Fear isn’t your enemy—it’s a guide. Recognize it, honor it, and then… ghost it. 💫

Time has a beautiful way of weaving our stories together. The baby from 2006 now stands beside me, helping welcome her nephew. Generations connected by love, birth, and the sacred rhythm of life. This is midwifery. ✨

✨ Routine ≠ Evidence ✨
So many common hospital practices aren’t actually backed by research—especially for healthy, low-risk pregnancies.

That’s why informed consent matters. When you know the evidence, you can make the choices that feel right for your birth.

Ask your provider: “What does the evidence say?”
