**I am also looking for recommendations on a ride on toy for Lito for his size. I worry that the 24 volts will be too small for him but want him to have something he can use while he’s outside. (With decreased heart function, he can’t get too worked up but I want him to be able to follow us outside and not be stuck in the house all the time.)

Today was a day of smiles for my boy.

We joined up for bingo today and Lito won the third round!!!

Also, one of Lito’s dear friends added him on kid’s messenger today, and he was SO excited and happy.

Now, idk if yall believe in signs buuut this chicken nugget being a heart had me in my feelings today 😭💙

Lito’s little heart rate is higher tonight than it has been for a few days. Resting and not moving it’s sitting around 109-115 and if he moves or talks it’s about 120-130. It goes up when he has to get up or roll over.
They are trying to ween him off the steroid he’s been on for his heart, so that could be what’s going on, but I’m kind of a nervous wreck about it.

His infectious diseases doctor stopped by today and said she was surprised he looked so good with the way his bloodwork looks. 💙

Lito is working hard to get better, now we just need his body to follow along.

We are still waiting on answers for what caused this and with his case being so rare, the more eyes we get on his condition, the more likely someone will see it who has been through it.

We appreciate you all so much and I’m happy to report Lito is doing better every day.

We will update more later, but thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Dad update:

UPDATE: To start off I want to make it clear that Lito has issues on two fronts, cardiac and oncology. Just spoke with his cardiac doctors. They come in teams every morning, they all spoke of him trending in the right direction with his heart and lungs. They told me that they are trying to heal him well enough to where he’s not in an ICU. The oncology side is what’s truly the unknown here. They answered some of my question but told me not to hold against them because it’s not their specialty. Of what they said, the two chemotherapy’s he’s on are suppose to help his body to stop producing so much white blood cells and one of the drugs is targeting the eosinophils. The cardiac doctor said best case scenario is they figure it all out here but worst case scenario he would need a bone marrow transplant based on other patients he’s seen but that has to come from oncology and not him. Thank you for all the support. Based on all I’ve read this could take months or years to fully heal our son. I’m keeping hope alive for a short term fix but I’ll take a fix period.😭😭😢
Oh, Lito is being allowed to eat and drink a lot so regain his strength. Of that I am grateful to see my son somewhat returning to normal.
11:23 UPDATE: Another set of cardiologist came by and told us that Lito’s prognosis for his heart is 100% recovery with his medication and long term monitoring. They stated that the oncology side is what will determine if stay in the hospital will be long term and that it can affect his heart treatment so we are still waiting for answers in that department.
