Vancrest of Ada turned up the fun with our Hunt for the Golden Treat 🍰

Hidden Tw***ies were scattered throughout the building, and our team was on a mission to find them. Once discovered, our winners were surprised with fun prizes like Tw***ie socks, sweet treats, and chocolate Tw***ies.

It was a fun way to celebrate an incredible team that leads with C.A.R.E. every single day. Your commitment and compassion make a meaningful difference for our residents. Thank you for making this such a special place and for making life a little sweeter πŸ’š

🌿 Stress Awareness Month 🌿

April is Stress Awareness Month, a great reminder that stress is a normal part of life, but managing it in healthy ways can make a big difference in how we feel each day. Everyone experiences stress differently and learning how to recognize and cope with it is an important part of overall wellness.

Ways to Help Manage Stress:
1️⃣ Take slow, deep breaths – Simple breathing exercises can help calm the mind and body in moments of stress.
2️⃣ Stay active – Gentle movement like walking, stretching, or chair exercises can help release tension and improve mood.
3️⃣ Talk it out – Sharing your thoughts with a friend, family member, or staff member can help you feel supported and understood.
4️⃣ Stick to a routine – Having a daily schedule can create a sense of stability and comfort.
5️⃣ Take breaks when needed – Resting and giving yourself time to recharge is important for both mental and physical health.
6️⃣ Do things you enjoy – Hobbies, music, reading, or spending time outdoors can help reduce stress and bring joy to your day.

Remember, managing stress doesn’t mean eliminating it completely, it means finding healthy ways to cope and taking care of yourself along the way. Small steps each day can lead to a calmer, healthier mindset. 🌿

🌟 Therapy Thursday Spotlight 🌟

Our weekly wellness group, led by our wellness assistant and rehab tech, brought everyone together for a fun and engaging session!

We even got our long term care and assisted living residents out together, and it was so much fun to see everyone participating side by side. We have also been enjoying the warm weather by moving activities outside to get fresh air and enjoy the sunshine while staying active.

It was a great opportunity for movement, laughter, and connection while focusing on overall wellness. We are so grateful for moments like these that keep our residents active, engaged, and having fun πŸ’š

🧠 Brain Health & Exercise 🧠

Keeping your mind active is just as important as staying physically healthy. Regular mental exercise can help maintain memory, improve focus, and support overall well-being.

Ways to Boost Brain Health:
1️⃣ Challenge your mind with puzzles and games – Crossword puzzles, word searches, Sudoku, and memory games help keep your thinking sharp.
2️⃣ Read regularly – Books, newspapers, or magazines provide new ideas and stimulate your mind.
3️⃣ Learn something new – Picking up an instrument, exploring new hobbies, or trying creative arts helps your brain grow and adapt.
4️⃣ Stay socially connected – Talking with friends, participating in group activities, or joining clubs can boost mood and mental function.
5️⃣ Practice mindfulness and reflection – Journaling, meditation, or simple breathing exercises help reduce stress, which can affect memory.
6️⃣ Incorporate gentle physical activity – Walking, stretching, or chair yoga supports brain health by keeping blood flowing to the brain.

Even small, consistent mental exercises each day can make a meaningful difference in memory, focus, and overall mental sharpness. A little effort goes a long way toward a healthier, sharper mind!
