🌟 Therapy Thursday Spotlight 🌟

Meet Richard, who came to Vancrest for short-term rehab and left feeling right at home. From the moment he arrived, our staff made him feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

Richard’s recovery improved quickly because our therapy team kept pushing him and reminding him he could do it. He appreciated how helpful everyone was. If he needed assistance, someone was always there. He especially enjoyed the care from the therapy team, aides, and nurses, and was pleasantly surprised by how well the staff looked after him.

Thanks to the encouragement and personalized care from our team, Richard was able to regain his strength and confidence and return home successfully. At Vancrest, every recovery journey matters and we are proud to celebrate the success of residents like Richard 💙

Falls are one of the most common causes of injury for older adults, but a few simple steps can help keep you safe and steady

Ways to Reduce Fall Risk:
1️⃣ Keep walkways clear – Remove clutter, loose rugs, and cords
2️⃣ Light the way – Make sure hallways, stairs, and entrances are well-lit
3️⃣ Supportive shoes – Wear shoes with good traction and proper support
4️⃣ Reach safely – Keep frequently used items within easy reach to avoid climbing or stretching
5️⃣ Stay active – Strength and balance exercises can improve stability and confidence

Join us on April 4th for an egg-citing afternoon full of fun, laughter, and surprises! The Easter Bunny will hop by to visit all the participants during the hunt! 🥚✨

Egg Hunt Schedule by Age:

2:00 pm – Peewee Hoppers: 0–3 years old

2:10 pm – Cotton Tails: 4–6 years old

2:20 pm – Young Bunnies: 7–10 years old

2:30 pm – Roger Rabbits: 60+ years old 🐇

🌟 Therapy Thursday 🌟

After suffering a stroke at home, Ann Kroner faced a challenging journey—16 days in the ICU, a short hospital stay, and then arriving at Vancrest for rehab. But with determination and the support of our caring team, she made incredible progress.

When Ann first arrived, she relied on a walker. Today, she’s walking independently, building strength, and even seeing improvements in her memory and endurance. Along the way, what stood out most? The kindness of everyone she met and the friendships she formed with other rehab residents, as well as the exceptional guidance of our therapy staff.

“The therapy department is superb, and everyone is so kind.”

Her advice for others? The knowledge, consistency, and dedication of our therapy team make all the difference. We couldn’t be prouder of Ann and the amazing strides she made during her stay! 💜
