Using play to help little ones to move & groove with confidence! It is my goal to set every kiddo and family up for success.

At Milestones at Play Physical Therapy & Wellness we provide pediatric physical therapy and wellness to children in Dallas, TX. We are a mobile, cash-based provider; we bring purposeful play to you! Pediatric physical therapy helps children improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination to achieve gross motor skills and reach their developmental goals. Developmental wellness sessions provide education and empower parents to help their child move effortlessly to play, explore, and become the best version of themselves. From Amie PT, DPT, Owner & Doctor of Physical Therapy: I love teaching and sharing my expertise and knowledge gained over the years with families, both as a mom and therapist. I am passionate about guiding parents through purposeful play to help kiddos move more efficiently and with confidence. As a mom and former stay at home mom with a kiddo in therapies, I know raising littles is hard. I am here to guide you! I created Milestones at Play to be a resource for families, to help each child be their unique self without limitations, and to help parents feel confident in their child's gross motor development. Let's play with purpose, together!

šŸ“£ Special Announcement šŸ“£

As we head into a brand-new year, I’m excited to share some heartfelt updates about the direction of Milestones at Play. After nearly two wonderful years at The Nest, it’s time for a transition. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a space that has held so much growth, creativity, and connection, this next chapter feels deeply aligned with who we are and what we love to do.

Returning to Our Roots: Mobile, Concierge Services šŸš—

In 2026, Milestones at Play will be moving back to a fully mobile, concierge model—and I couldn’t be happier about it. Providing services in your child’s natural environment has always been my happy place. There’s something truly magical about witnessing those ā€œlight bulbā€ moments right where kids live, play, and grow.

This shift allows me to bring personalized, meaningful support straight to your doorstep, now Monday through Friday.

What This Means for You:

šŸ‘šŸ» More flexibility and more availability for one-on-one mobile concierge sessions
šŸŽ‰ Continued family-centered support in your child’s natural environment.
āœ… A renewed emphasis on empowering kids in the environments where their gross motor skills truly come to life.
🤩 Appointments that actually flow seamlessly into your day.

Classes Are Pivoting—In a Fun Way! 🌈

While our physical class location is going away, our programming isn’t! Instead, we’ll be popping up in the community. Think collaborations, workshops, and special events in partnership with local businesses and kid-friendly spaces.

Stay tuned for announcements—there’s a lot of fun ahead!

Thank you for being part of the Milestones at Play community. This next chapter is filled with possibility, and I’m so excited to continue supporting your child’s journey in the most natural, joyful way possible.

Here’s to growth, movement, and magic in 2026! Happy New Year!

Up on the blog and FREE to download: Dr. Amie’s 2025 Holiday Gift Guide.

If you’re looking for some quality toys to put under your tree this year, we have just the thing for you!

We’ve thoughtfully curated a list of our favorite gross motor and developmental toys - most of which I have either used in my home, recommended to clients, or have in my therapy tool-box. You will find each section builds on the previous and prepares your child for the next minor and major milestones.

If you love the items listed and choose to purchase a gift from this guide, I would appreciate your support as I do earn a small commission on most of the links provided.

Link in bio and while you’re there explore the blog! We have a lot of resources and information available, including 5 things to look for when choosing toys!

Happy shopping!

Maybe you have or have had similar thoughts? I have had these conversations numerous times with family members, friends, other providers and clients over the years.

Pediatric physical therapy is only one specialty of physical therapy as a whole and inside pediatric physical therapy there are endless opportunities and areas of further specialization. That’s why it’s important to find the provider who is right for you and your family. If you have questions about pediatric physical therapy for your child, just ask! šŸ’™

Forever grateful for families who trust me to be part of their journey šŸ’™

Together, we created a plan that fit into their routine, using toys and items they already had at home—because supporting milestones doesn’t have to be complicated. ✨

It’s such an honor to walk alongside families in these moments (sometimes literally šŸ˜‰). Thank you for letting me be a resource for your little one!

There are many reasons why a child may walk on their toes and I always suggest seeking help from a trained provider to determine the root cause (and usually it’s multifactorial).

Every child deserves a unique, individualized approach; early intervention is šŸ”‘ and highly recommended to obtain successful outcomes. It takes time to change movement patterns, especially toe walking. Sometimes many providers and/or orthotics, if necessary. Activities should not just address the feet, it’s a totally body approach, which is why I wanted to show you 5ļøāƒ£ activities you MAY see your child’s therapist incorporate into their treatment plan if addressing toe walking is a concern of yours. šŸ«¶šŸ»
