✨❤️♾️ Celebrating Neurodiversity! ♾️❤️✨

Today, on Autism Acceptance Day, we honor and celebrate the beauty of neurodiversity! Instead of simply raising awareness, we strive for understanding, inclusion, and acceptance—because every mind is unique, and that’s something to embrace.

Neurodiversity makes our world brighter, more creative, and full of different perspectives. Let’s continue to build spaces where every individual is valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Tag someone who inspires you to see the world in a new way! ❤️♾️❤️

💜 Thoughtful Thursday 💜

This week our topic is — Dyscalculia.

Dyscalculia is a brain-based learning difference that affects how a person understands and works with numbers and math concepts, including number sense, math facts, and problem solving.

Most importantly, dyscalculia is not related to intelligence, effort, or motivation — it reflects differences in how the brain processes numbers and mathematical information.

Happy Tuesday!! It is time for this weeks “Tipful Tuesday”!

💜This weeks TIP is on using a Waiting Room or Waiting Car bag. If you are like many of our families you may be traveling from appointment to appoint the throughout the week.

💚 To help entertain your kids and stay away from screens try packing a Waiting Bag or Box. Fill this Bag or Box with items that your kids not only love but can do with minimal to no help. This may be coloring, books, puzzles, sensory objects, light up toys, and more.

💜Try to keep this bag or box in your car....that way you won’t forget it.

💚Some of our kids need the same things in their bags everyday while others need change. For the ones that need change our families make 2-3 different ones and change them out every week.

💜If you have questions about creating or using a Waiting Bag or Box OR need help making one please DM us!

What’s Ms. Manda reading this weekend/this month (It's a big one)?? 📚

This weekend’s pick is a big one… but an incredibly important one—NeuroTribes by Steve Silberman.

💜 We were deeply saddened by the loss of the AMAZING Steve Silberman in 2024. His work, particularly this groundbreaking book, has had an irreplaceable impact on the neurodiverse community. He will be incredibly missed, but his legacy will continue to be cherished and remembered by so many of us 💚💜.

It was NeuroTribes that first introduced Laura and me to the term "Neurodiversity" (back in 2015), and we can’t overstate just how life-changing this book was for us. Steve Silberman beautifully captures the history and evolution of autism research and offers a perspective on neurodiversity that has transformed the way we understand and embrace the neurodiverse community. 💜💚🥰

NeuroTribes is no less than AMAZING, and here are just a few of the powerful topics it covers:
💜 The early years of autism research and the background behind the diagnosis and its researchers
💚 Potential answers for why the autism diagnosis has increased over the years
💜 The powerful idea of Neurodiversity—and how it’s reshaping the conversation about autism
💚 And so much more!

If you want to understand the history of autism, this is THE book to read. It’s an essential resource for anyone interested in the autism community and the neurodiversity movement.
