It’s time for another Tipful Tuesday! Today’s tip is say “I Love You”!

If you are a parent of a little one and they haven’t said “I Love You” yet….then this tip is for you!

Here are 5 ways to help your child say “I love you”:

💜Model your language: When we model our language we are saying the words we want our kids to say. When moments arise where your child could say “I Love You” like hugging, kissing, etc model “I love you mommy”.

💚Sing: Singing is very powerful. Create an “I Love You” song with your child and sing it to them/with a few times a day.

💜Use a Visual: Create a “I love you daddy” visual. Whenever you model or sing your “I Love You” song point to the visual you created.

💚Book: Create a “I Love You Book”. In you have a picture of a family member and the words “Mom. I love mom”. Then read/sing this book one time a day.

💜Create a Routine: Within all of these ideas you can see the goal is to create a routine. Pick one or pick them all but create a routine where you are modeling “I Love You” several times throughout your day.

If you have questions or need help with helping your child say “I love you” please DM us or email amanda@kidspeakdallas.com -- as we would love to help.

We love games because they are fun and work on so many different skills!

For Valentines Weeks we have been playing a lot of our Tower of Love game --- it is just like Jenga but with Hearts --- so cute! ❤❤

Naturally this game works on so many skills such as:
😍turn taking
😍waiting
😍planning
😍being flexible
😍being okay with winning/losing
😍and more!

But we like to take it a step further and work on -- emotional regulation skills, theory of mind and perspective skills and conversations:
🥰talking about different feelings each turn
🥰talking about what others do/say that make us feel loved
🥰talking about what we do/say that others feel loved
🥰info dumping on specific topics on each turn
🥰asking others questions
🥰telling jokes
🥰and more!

Same game.
Different layer of connection.
Big growth disguised as play.

Because the best learning happens when kids don’t even realize they’re learning 💜

What's Ms. Manda reading this weekend?

Today she is re-reading You Make the Difference by Ayala Manolson.
This is a wonderful book if you think your child may have a language delay or does have a language delay.

This book is full of great illustrations focusing on ways to increase your child's language skills within everyday life routines, play and more.

The author focuses on 3 Core Principles:
✅allowing your child to lead
✅adapting to share the moment
✅add new experiences and words

The author then takes these 3 Core Principles and provides great examples and strategies to use during
💚games
💚music
💚books
💚and more

If you are a parent, preschool teacher, day care teacher or therapist --- this is a great book for you!

If you have questions about your child's speech and language skills please DM us as we would love to help!

🌈 Full of Quotes Friday 🌈

This Friday, we’re reflecting on one of our favorite quotes:

“Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.” – Maya Angelou

In a world where we can sometimes feel overwhelmed, we have the power to bring a little light and color into someone’s day.

Let’s spread kindness, uplift one another, and create brighter moments for those around us. 🌈

📚💡 Fun Ways to Read Books with Your Little One! 💡📚

Reading together is about more than just words—it's about connection, curiosity, and conversation! Try these engaging ways to bring stories to life:

🎶 Sing the Story: Turn books into songs! Singing helps with memory, rhythm, and language learning.

⏸️ Point & Pause: Point to pictures and pause to let your child take in the details or respond naturally.

🔤 Fill in the Blank: Read familiar books and pause—“Brown bear, brown bear, what do you ___?” Let your child finish the sentence!

🖼️ Describe with 1-4 Words: Keep it simple! Say things like, “Big red truck” or “Soft, cozy bunny” to build vocabulary without overwhelming.

🚫 Skip the “What’s That?” Loop: Instead of quizzing, spark conversation! Try:

“I see a yellow duck!” or "Look yellow duck" or "Quack Quack duck"
“That cat looks sleepy.” or "sleepy little kitty" or "(pretend yawn) sleepy kitty"
“The dog is running fast!” or "run dog run" or "go dog run fast"

📖 Remember: It's not about testing, it’s about connecting! Sharing books helps build language, imagination, and joyful moments together. 💜💚

💖 Valentine's Day Sensory Bins: A Sweet Way to Play! 💖

Sensory bins are a wonderful way to spark curiosity, creativity, and learning! This Valentine's season, try a themed sensory bin filled with festive textures and colors to engage your little one’s senses.

🌟 Why Sensory Bins Are Amazing:
👐 Encourage hands-on exploration and fine motor skill development
🗣️ Promote language as you name objects and describe textures
🧠 Support focus, attention, and imaginative play
💗 Build connection as you explore together

💓Creating your Sensory bin:
💗You can make one like ours -- take a sensory box you already have and add to it like....gems, heart cut outs, heart boxes, etc. Or you can spend a little more time and be extra creative......

🎀 Valentine's Day Ideas:
💌 Red, pink, and white rice or pasta
💘 Heart-shaped foam cutouts and cookie cutters
🫧 Cotton balls as “marshmallows” for a pretend hot cocoa station
📿 Beads and string for a fun lacing activity
🍫 Chocolate-scented playdough for extra sensory fun!

✨ Bonus Tip: Add a scoop, tweezers, or small cups for extra fine motor practice!

Sensory play is the perfect way to create meaningful moments while supporting your child's development. 💜💚
