Did you know that Dr. James was the very first Rural Medical Scholar sponsored by ALFA? The Institute was created to encourage the next generation of healthcare professionals from our community. When rural areas grow their own:

• Patients travel less for care
• Emergency response improves
• Preventive care increases
• Trust between providers and patients strengthens

Today marks a bittersweet farewell to Callie and Emma, as they prepare for their next chapter. We are grateful they joined our AMC family while completing their studies at UAB. Emma leaves us to begin her teaching career, specializing in mathematics, while Callie will pursue further education in the Physician Assistant program at Samford University. We invite you to join us in extending our best wishes to them both. We are so proud of you!
