Research grade really does mean NOT for human use! Cheaper isn’t worth the risk!
BREAKING: Aurora IV and Wellness permanently closes following a lawsuit for using medications not approved for human use.
Aurora IV and Wellness, a Cullman based IV infusion clinic, has been permanently closed following a settlement with Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.
In November 2025, the Attorney General’s Office obtained a temporary restraining order against the business and its owners, Amanda and Chris Medders, after alleging violations of Alabama’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The order shut down the clinic and prohibited the owners from engaging in healthcare related business while the case was pending.
On Monday, the Attorney General announced the lawsuit has now been settled. Under the terms of the agreement, Aurora IV and Wellness is permanently closed, and the Medderses are prohibited from working in the healthcare industry in any capacity involving direct patient care.
The settlement requires the defendants to pay $17,267.50 in restitution to affected consumers, along with $7,000 in penalties and fees to the state. Amanda Medders has also surrendered her nursing license to the Alabama Board of Nursing.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the investigation found the clinic advertised weight loss medications as pharmaceutical grade but instead provided research grade chemicals that were not approved for human use.
