⭐December Rising Star ⭐

Congratulations to Adult MI Case Manager, Kelsie Platschorre, on winning the December Rising Star Award!

Kelsie was nominated by her coworkers who said:

“Kelsie spoke with a consumer over the phone and walked him through a crisis. She did an incredible job!” “Stepped up to help me during a potentially dangerous situation. Her support made a difficult day much easier.”

What Kelsie likes about working with CMH:

I enjoy working for LCMHA because I get to be present with my consumers for their accomplishments. Being able to celebrate their achievements with them, no matter how big or small, is really what it’s all about for me.

A fun fact about Kelsie:

I love to complete paint by numbers. Last winter I entered a paint by number I completed into a contest and I won 1st place in my age group!

Thank you, Kelsie, for everything you do to help your consumers have a brighter future. We truly appreciate it!

If you have noticed significant changes in your mood and behavior when the seasons change, you may be experiencing seasonal affective disorder (SAD). SAD is a type of depression characterized by a recurrent seasonal pattern, with symptoms lasting about 4−5 months out of the year. Winter-pattern SAD should not be confused with “holiday blues”—feelings of sadness or anxiety brought on by stresses at certain times of the year. If you or someone you know is showing symptoms of SAD, talk to a health care provider or a mental health specialist about your concerns and different treatment options.

Is it just the 'winter blues' or seasonal affective disorder (SAD)? Learn the signs and symptoms of SAD, a type of depression, and how to get help: samhsa.gov/mental-health/seasonal-affective-disorder
