I realized I missed staff appreciation day on March 6, but at Hillside we celebrate our team every day!

For Christmas, I received a calendar featuring our amazing staff (here’s a little sneak peak!) It’s a daily reminder that even on the busiest, most challenging days, we still know how to laugh, support eachother, and have fun.

So yes, I missed the official day…but this team deserves to be celebrated all year long!

At Hillside Dermatology, we see it every winter — dry, irritated skin and increased hair shedding start making an appearance right along with the snow (sooo much snow) .

Cold outdoor air and dry indoor heat can strip moisture from your skin and scalp, leading to:

• Itchy, flaky skin
• Dull, dry hair
• Increased hair shedding

While some seasonal shedding can be completely normal, significant or persistent hair loss should always be evaluated.

Did you know? Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., but it’s also one of the most preventable. Early detection saves lives!

Top Tips for Skin Cancer Prevention:

1.☀️ Wear Sunscreen Daily – SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days.

2.🕶️ Cover Up – Hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing reduce UV exposure.

3.🔎 Check Your Skin – Look for new or changing moles, spots, or lesions.

4.🏖️ Avoid Tanning Beds – Artificial UV rays are a major risk factor.

5.📅 Schedule Annual Skin Exams – Early detection = better outcomes.
