With Mother's Day around the corner, complicated emotions can arise. Whether you are wanting to be a mother, have a difficult relationship with your own mom, ARE a mom and feeling overwhelmed or discouraged--know that you are not alone.
While others may not openly talk about complicated feelings surrounding mothers and motherhood, part of being human is having a unique relationship with all the above.
Reach out if this resonates with you and you are looking to explore your emotions, find your own healing, and or create a balance in being a mom that works for you! Rachel Ann Dine, LPCC 14053 would love to empower you to feel peace and find your own path in the "messiness" and confusion that life can bring. đđŤś
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month đ
Being in a relationship where domestic violence or abuse of any kind is present can feel very isolating. And if you know someone who is in an abusive relationship, it can be difficult to understand what to say, or how to show support.
The truth isâdomestic violence is (unfortunately) very prevalent. One in three women and one in four men have experienced some form of intimate partner violence over the course of their lifetime (according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence).
This month Iâll be sharing covert + overt signs of abuse, some thought provoking research on abuse, and encouragement for healing!

Womenâs mental wellness can be complicated. Itâs not unusual for a woman to do three things at once and also be thinking about multiple tasks that have to be done, worries, etc. However, constantly trying to juggle it all can take a toll. Sometimes living life as a multitasker can cause you to lose sight of who you are and what you want. Whether youâre a mom, an adult student finishing college, a CEO, nurse, wife (and the list can go on and on!), becoming self-aware and in tune with you are vital to your mental wellness and I want to help you find and be your healthiest self!
Think about the following questions...Are you feeling unhappy or dissatisfied in your relationship? Feeling like you have tried to make everyone else happy but in turn, have lost sight of who YOU are? Have a sense of sadness and anxiety, but are not sure where it's coming from? Confused about what changes you need to make to feel fulfilled and satisfied in your daily life?
You do NOT have to continue to live life feeling this way. My practice is geared towards helping the modern day woman, just like you, adopt a different way of thinking and live a life authentic to you! Learn to live life from a place of empowerment, where you are able to set healthy boundaries, say no, and let go of the need to practice perfectionism. We will make a plan, catered to YOU, that takes into consideration your unique needs in life. Feel free to call me, 757-739-6771, or go straight to my website to learn more or set up a time to meet through my self-scheduling link at: www.humanitascounseling-consulting.com
Counseling catered to teens
In addition to mental health wellness for women, the other pillar of my practice is in helping teens navigate life and being a source of support. School, peer issues, and navigating life in general can all cause an increase in anxiety and or depression. I'm here to help in a relatable way! Utilizing techniques of art therapy, skills training, and an empathetic, non-judgmental approach, allow teens to feel heard and supported in my practice. I truly believe that counseling for teens sets the foundation for developing self-awareness and problem solving that will follow into adulthood! For more information, please call me 757-739-6771, or check out my website on teen counseling services here: https://humanitascounseling-consulting.com/teen-counseling/
Humanitas Counseling and Consulting, LLC came to be in the June 2017 after I had worked for many different agencies over the course of a decade and struggled with really embracing the services that were being offered. I noticed that there was a great need for services for women and teens where clients truly felt like their counselor was providing therapy that encompassed the entire mind-body-soul approach in a holistic, individualized way.
Through my previous work experiences, I learned a great deal about what I liked about the mental health world, and what I didnât. With my practice, I wanted to develop a quality mental health service where women and teens could feel nurtured, celebrated, and empowered to live a healthy life. I designed Humanitas Counseling with the outlook of it being a mental health wellness âspaâ for the mind and soul!
A place where women and teens could receive premium counseling from a provider very invested in helping them reconnect with who they are on a core level. From art therapy, to helping you rediscover your passions and feel more balanced through traditional talk therapy, or taking a more structured skills based approach, I meet you where you are at and we figure out the best way for you feel empowered!
Reaching out for help can be difficult. However, know that support is available. If you are ready to learn more about yourself, change up your thinking, and feel empowered, give me a call! Want to learn more? Check out my website (link above) and blog for resources on living life in a way that honors you. Be empowered to live well-you ARE worth it!
