🌎 Giving back for Earth Day 🌱

The Pali Momi Green Team marked Earth Day by lending a hand at the nearby Pearl Harbor Bike Path. Ten volunteers from Pali Momi staff and their family members joined community members to clear litter and debris, helping keep the path safer and more welcoming for everyone.

“This is our third year volunteering for this cleanup in honor of Earth Day,” said Kristine Gaoing, Facilities Management supervisor and Green Team lead. “Seeing how much there is to clean up always motivates us to give back – for sustainability and for the safety of the public.”

🐣 Easter fun at Pali Momi Medical Center!

On Easter Monday, team members took part in an Easter egg scavenger hunt that challenged them to solve riddles and clues hidden across campus, from the Plastic Surgery Clinic and Pulmonology Clinic to Thoracic Surgery, the Heart Center, Boot Camp and the Discharge Lounge, all leading to the golden egg. 💛

Each winner received two tickets to the UH men’s volleyball match against CSUN, making the hunt even more exciting.

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ Inspiring the next generation of caregivers, right here on O‘ahu.

Approximately 60 students from ‘Aiea High School got a behind-the-scenes look at health care careers during a hands-on career fair at Pali Momi Medical Center. Students explored clinical departments, asked questions of physicians and staff and saw firsthand the various paths available in health care, many just steps away from their own campus.

As an ‘Aiea High alumnus, Pali Momi Chief of Staff Dr. Jason Isa says the goal is simple: show students they’re not limited by expectations, and that their future in health care can start right here at home.

👏 Nhelda Aguda has been promoted to vice president of hospital operations at Pali Momi.

With 25 years of nursing experience and 15 years in progressive leadership roles, Nhelda has been a steady, compassionate and visionary presence across our clinical departments. She most recently served as director of Patient Care Services, where she helped strengthen operations and support continuous improvement throughout the medical center.

Nhelda is also deeply committed to developing Hawai‘i’s future health care workforce. She serves as Advisory Board Chair and Work‑Based Learning mentor for Waipahu High School’s Academy of Health & Sciences, helping prepare local students for meaningful careers in health care.

Mahalo to First Hawaiian Bank for including the Pali Momi Medical Center Women’s Center as a partner of its Kokua Mai program. 💛🌺

We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of more than 160 First Hawaiian Bank employees across Oʻahu who chose to support women’s health in our community. 🙌

Team members from branches including Wai‘anae, Mililani and ‘Ewa Beach, among many others, joined together to make a meaningful difference.

First Hawaiian Bank has supported the Pali Momi Women’s Center since 2014, and this continued partnership helps us provide essential services for women across Central and West Oʻahu – including mammograms, bone density exams, biopsies, ultrasounds and OB-GYN care. 💕

♻️ Pali Momi Medical Center is committed to our mission of creating a healthier Hawai‘i – for our patients and our planet.

In 2025, our team recycled more than 540,000 pounds of materials, including shredded paper, cardboard, food waste, e‑waste and batteries.

Because of these efforts, we helped save:

🌱 833 trees
💧 251,096 gallons of water
💡 338,311 hours of electricity
🛢️ 10,259 gallons of oil

Food waste was also recycled into animal feed for local farms, supporting sustainability in our community.

🏆 Join us in celebrating Corey Taniguchi, Pali Momi’s Most Valuable Team Player for January 2026!

Corey, an MRI technologist who also supports CT services, was recognized for his unwavering commitment to patient care. Whenever the team needs extra support, he doesn't hesitate to adjust his schedule, pick up additional shifts or even stay overnight, always ensuring patients receive timely Imaging services.

His collaboration doesn't stop there. Corey worked with colleagues to enhance the CT cross‑training program, helping create a more structured and supportive process that empowers X‑ray staff to build new skills and strengthens the resilience of the Imaging team.

Corey’s dedication, flexibility and commitment to supporting both patients and coworkers embody the spirit of the Hawai‘i Pacific Health MVTP program.
