My 4th trip to Kyoto

My 4th time to this mountain

My 3rd year in a row back at this mountain

Mt Kurama is where the founder of Reiki sat; meditated and received profound insights about spiritual enlightenment

One needs to only be at this mountain to understand why he was able to receive such insights

This mountain is very spiritual and the energy can be felt just in the town

The energy gets stronger and stronger the higher you ascend

As a reiki practitioner, I always make a visit to this mountain when I am visiting Kyoto

I come to experience the energy of this mountain

To receive insights for myself

To pay respect to the mountains

To the temple

To the trees

To nature

And to Reiki practice

I never leave this place the same as I arrived

Something always shift within me

I am truly grateful to be communing with the mountain today

Visited one of my favorite temples here in Kyoto

I stopped by two days ago and was honored to witness their year end ritual called susu-harai

I returned today to pay my respect and to sit in meditation

What an honor to be sitting in a space with such beautiful energy

No mud, no lotus 🪷

What a year you have been

You have taken me through the depths of my soul

Forcing me to look at things about myself I never wanted to look at

Choices and decisions matter

But there is also a greater cosmo out there

Together, they drive the events that unfolds in our lives

If you are going through a difficult season in your life, allow yourself to sit deep in the mud

Know that you will come out on the other side somehow

A wiser version of you

And one day, you will be grateful for the mud as it allowed you to be the beautiful lotus that you were always meant to be

Some days you just have to sit with your breath

Nothing but your breath

Gently noticing your inhales and exhales

Allow your breath to release the version of you that can longer walk with you into your next phase of life

Release that with love

Release the version of you that you carried from your past lives; the version of you conditioned through your upbringing and environment; the version of you that is formed through this experience we call life

Release it all with your breath
