PTSD and C-PTSD is one of my favorite topics to talk about—and June is PTSD Awareness Month.
Trauma affects more people than we realize, and it doesn’t always come from one major event. It can build slowly over time through childhood experiences, cultural and societal systems, toxic relationships, or ongoing stress. Whether it’s PTSD or complex PTSD (C-PTSD), the effects often show up in the body—through tension, anxiety, pain, and disconnection.
As a trauma-informed massage therapist, I believe deeply in the power of safe, supportive touch to help people reconnect with their bodies and begin to feel at home in themselves again.
