With heavy hearts we wanted to let our patients know our favorite employee of the month (every month of course) is no longer with us. Dozer was diagnosed with cancer earlier this month and we had to make the tough decision to let him pass over the rainbow bridge this morning.
We never planned on having a clinic dog, it just kind of happened. Back in 2020, Dozer sustained an injury to his paw that did not allow us to leave him home unattended while it healed. What we thought would be a few temporary weeks of him coming into the clinic with us turned into an almost weekly thing.
During those first few weeks we saw what a positive impact he had on our patients. Often waddling out to the waiting room and leaning on those that needed him most that day, turning their pain and discomfort into a smile while he leaned against them. It truly showed us the power of animals and them sensing what we need.
The clinic will feel a little empty without him but we're forever thankful for his help guiding patients to Dr. Paul's treatment room, helping Kari schedule patients behind the front desk, and greeting as many patients as he could between his naps.
