'As some memories fade, others stay crystal clear - and those are the moments I choose to celebrate.
‘Living with dementia can be confusing and frightening. Simple things like remembering names, following conversations, or navigating familiar places can become overwhelming. And for those watching a loved one go through it, it brings a quiet kind of grief, as the person you know begins to change.
‘This is why this cause is so close to my heart. A close family member of mine is living with dementia, and it’s shown me that it’s so much more than memory loss. It affects personality, behaviour, emotions, and day-to-day life - but the person is still there. They still feel, and they still need patience, respect, and compassion.
‘This year, I’m running the Brighton, Norfolk and London Marathons to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
‘But these aren’t just any races. London will be my 100th road marathon, completing the Triple Crown: 100 road marathons, 100 trail marathons, and 100 ultra marathons. I’ll become just the 20th person, and only the 5th woman, to ever achieve it.’
