We love seeing programs in our community that help older adults stay active, creative, and connected. 💙
Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities is offering two great opportunities for older adults to get involved — Stitch for Good and Silver Steps, both designed to support healthy aging through creativity and movement.
Be sure to check out their post below for details and registration information!
Aging isn’t just a number—it’s a masterpiece in the making! We are thrilled to introduce two brand-new Aging is an Art Form offerings designed to keep your hands busy and your heart healthy. Both programs are FREE to attend, but space is limited and registration is required.
Stitch for Good: Grab your needles, hooks, and yarn! Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, join us to create sensory items for people with dementia. We'll then donate our creations to memory care units and other organizations working with those experiencing dementia. Learn more and register here: https://conta.cc/4kI4GbI
Silver Steps: In partnership with the Canton Ballet, this free, ballet-inspired program is designed to help older adults build core strength, improve stability, and stay independent—all through gentle movements at the barre. Whether you're looking to prevent falls or simply find a graceful new way to move, we’d love to see you there!
