This Doctor’s Day, we’re proud to recognize the incredible leadership and care provided by our Medical Director, Dr. Sheldon Steiner, at Divine at Canal Pointe 💙
Originally from Wayne County, Ohio, and a former college baseball player at The College of Wooster, his journey into medicine was driven by a passion for science and a genuine desire to help people feel and live better. After spending a decade in Washington, DC, he returned home to be closer to family—and to make a meaningful impact in his community.
Since joining Divine at Canal Pointe in January, he and his team have already made a positive difference in the lives of our residents. Dr. Steiner is in our facility every week, and his practitioners are her five days a week, ensuring consistent, hands-on care. His commitment to being present, working alongside staff, and providing such support and bedside care truly reflects the heart of what it means to serve in a skilled nursing facility.
In addition to his role here, he works as a hospitalist at Akron City Hospital, caring for a wide range of patients.
Outside of work, he enjoys staying active, spending time with his kids, playing basketball, and reading.
