Today, March 31st, is International Trans Day of Visibility.

In an era of immense difficulty for the community, it can be hard to remember that Trans Day of Visibility is as much about positivity as it is about awareness and resistance.

The annual awareness day, which takes place on 31 March every year, was founded by activist Rachel Crandall Crocker as an alternative to the comparatively bleak awareness holidays dedicated to trans people, such as Trans Day of Remembrance.

Sometimes the problem isn’t that there’s too much to do.

It’s that nothing has been clearly prioritized.

So everything feels urgent. Everything pulls at your attention. And even small decisions start to feel heavier than they should.

Clarity doesn’t remove responsibility.

But it does change how you carry it.

Many capable, thoughtful people live in a near-constant state of urgency without realizing it.

The problem isn’t that they’re doing too little.
It’s that everything starts to feel equally important, equally time-sensitive, and equally demanding of their energy.

Over time, that constant pressure erodes clarity.

Intentional action requires space to pause, assess what actually matters, and choose where your energy goes next.

If things have felt reactive lately, it may not be a motivation problem.

It may simply be time to step back and regain perspective.
