Under current law, FERS annuitants, including more than 50,000 NALC members, receive a limited COLA, while CSRS annuitants receive the full adjustment. This unfair system will also impact nearly 178,000 active NALC letter carriers in FERS when they retire. The Equal COLA Act would eliminate this disparity and ensure all federal annuitants are treated equally.
