Last month, some of our dermatologists at Akron Dermatology had the opportunity to teach NEOMED second-year medical students.

We covered topics from skin exam basics to recognizing common and serious dermatologic conditions—and loved seeing the curiosity, insight, and energy these future doctors brought to the table.

🎨🩺 Blending art and medicine at the Akron Art Museum

We had a wonderful evening with NEOMED’s Creatives in Medicine club last month, exploring how art and humanism enrich the practice of medicine.

Dr. Mostow led thoughtful discussions on interpreting artwork and how the same observational skills apply to patient care and physical diagnosis. Moments like these remind us that medicine is both a science and an art—rooted in empathy, curiosity, and human connection.

Thank you to the students for sharing your perspectives, and to the Akron Art Museum for hosting such a meaningful experience.
