We love hearing from clients and their families about their experience at Red Oak. Savannah K. posted on Google:

“Absolutely astounding therapists! My son continues to thrive as he grows, however when I faced behavioral/ communication obstacles with my son I would reach out sometimes even via text his therapist would respond in a timely manner. I highly recommend this facility!”

Thank you Savannah for sharing about your experience at Red Oak! We are so glad that it has been a good fit for you and your family!

🔦Mentor-Mentee Spotlight!

Mentor Tyler and Mentee Jae-von, a match at Litchfield Community Learning Center, enjoy spending time with each other each week. They love playing games, many of which they invent themselves, and talking about a lot of different topics. This creative pair has enjoyed participating in the iC.A.R.E. Mentoring program and getting know each other. When asked if they would recommend it to other people considering becoming a mentor or a mentee they both gave an emphatic "Yes!"

💡March Parenting Tips from Kelli Law, OCPSA💡

March, with daily weather changes, can be a confusing time for kids in Ohio! We often get a dose of restlessness and curiosity about what is coming. As parents let's use that to our advantage!

1. As the daylight starts to increase, try to add extra outdoor time after school. Short walks or bicycle rides can help burn off that excited energy.

2. Reviewing routines can help too. That same nice weather can throw routines off, especially bedtimes. Reinforce homework time and bedtime consistency now to help prevent the chaos that can come in April and May.

3. Finally my favorite - March can be a great time to talk about being a good friend at school. At dinner talk with your kids and ask who they played with or if someone made them feel happy today. Try to remember to ask open ended questions - meaning the kids need to talk to answer instead of being able to get away with just saying yes and no. For example asking "How were you kind?" today lets you have a conversation together and also can teach them to look for more opportunities to be kind.

💡This month's SEL tip comes from Red Oak's Manager of Prevention and SEL Services, Joli Oliver, OCPS.

March Mindfulness: Sometimes, one calm minute is all you need to reset.

Mindful Moments
Take 2–5 minutes each day for a quiet break. Try one of these simple activities:
- Deep breathing (inhale for 4, exhale for 4)
- Gentle stretching
- Guided visualization or calming music
- Sitting quietly and noticing sounds or feelings

Challenge: Pick one moment each day—morning, lunch, or bedtime—to pause and breathe. Even a minute of mindfulness can make a big difference.
