🎃🍂Throwing it back to warmer, pumpkin-spiced times at the Maize Valley Fall Festival just a few weekends ago! 🍂🎃

We had an absolute blast navigating the maze, launching pumpkins from a cannon, indulging in delicious fall treats and enjoying hay rides with our residents, attendings, and their families 🍁✨

Fast forward to today - it’s the first snowfall of the year ❄️☃️ and we’re already missing those cozy autumn vibes. Who else is dreaming of hay rides and pumpkin cannons to fight off the cold?!?

🎤✨It’s a Swift Diagnosis! ✨🎤

Today, one our incredible PGY-3 residents took center stage at noon conference to present a fascinating clinicopatholgical conference (CPC) on Birt-Hogg-Dubè syndrome. With the help of our expert panel and audience, Taylor pieced together the clinical puzzle like a true mastermind 🧩🩺 From rare genetic syndromes to expert insights, this case had it all!

Here’s to more moments of learning, teamwork, and cracking the code on complex cases. Taylor, you’re the “Anti-Hero” of diagnostic dilemmas, and we’re “enchanted” by your dedication.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of our PGY-3’s come up with for their CPC’s this year! We’re also ~just a little excited~ for a new album dropping tomorrow 🎶🎤

We kicked off our Patient Safety Curriculum for the academic year this past Wednesday!

All residents and medical students participated in a 2-hour long interactive workshop where they learned about the 5-Why’s, root-cause analysis (RCA), safety event reporting systems (SERS), and how to create an action plan to prevent future safety events.

Throughout the year, our second year residents will undertake projects where they conplete real root cause analyses of actual safety events that occur in our hospital. They’ll come up with an action plan and work to implement changes to our existing systems to prevent future safety events. Each PGY-2 will then present their findings during our monthly patient safety conference.

Our residents are working towards implementing real change and moving towards creating a environment.
