SATURDAY NOV 15th 4-6pm ❤️
Yoga for Working with Shame

Shame, like all emotions, is a physical experience.

Yoga offers multiple ways to meet shame and begin to transform it.

‘Getting it right’ is a matter of gently meeting ourselves in the moment and keeping our hope and aspiration alive.

Most of us would never choose shame as a partner in this life.

We come by it for many sad reasons — abuse, neglect, oppression, and injustice.

In this workshop we will explore some of the most common tools the yoga tradition offers to transform shame into the energy and consciousness of peace and thriving.

Join Aviva for a TRE (tension, stress and trauma release) session followed by a sweet Singing Bowl and Gong Sound Bath. This evening is an opportunity to tend to the body, quiet the mind and land deeply into the present moment.

TRE is a simple technique that invites naturally occurring neurogenic tremors to release stress or tension from the body that accumulate from everyday circumstances of life, difficult situations, immediate or prolonged stressful situations, or traumatic life experiences. These gentle tremors reverberate outwards along the spine releasing tension from the sacrum to the cranium. Eventually, these tremors will evoke themselves naturally in a rest position to reduce any stress or tension that was accumulated over the course of the day.

Sound Baths:

Stress reduction: The gentle sound waves can act as a form of “sonic massage,” reducing stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels, the stress hormone

Improved sleep: The resonant sounds can tune the brain to delta waves, which are associated with deep, restorative sleep. Can help reduce insomnia.

Balance Mood: The calming effects of the sound bath can help balance mood swings and aid in the management of conditions like depression. It fosters a sense of inner peace that can last well beyond the session itself.

Mental Reset: Just like rebooting a computer, a sound bath can provide a mental reset, clearing the mind of clutter and restoring cognitive functions. This reset can lead to improved attention span and a refreshed perspective on day-to-day challenges.

Emotional release: The vibrational frequencies can help unlock emotional blockages, fostering a sense of emotional freedom.

Sharpened Focus and Creativity: The meditative state achieved during a sound bath can open up the mind to new ideas, enhancing creativity.

Cellular Healing: The gongs’ vibrations are believed to resonate with the body’s cells and energy centers, providing a form of internal cleansing

All levels, and abilities welcome. No yoga experience required.

7-8:30pm, Soul Serenade: TRE & Sound Bath
