On this day, 16 years ago, we lost a very special part of Ronk Funeral Home — Samuel Lee Ronk, lovingly known as Sammy.

Sammy was a kind, compassionate, and dedicated funeral director who truly understood what it meant to serve families during life’s hardest moments. Learning the funeral profession from his father, Mr. Almo Ronk, Sammy carried forward not just a business, but a calling. With a caring heart and a steady presence, he helped take Ronk Funeral Home to new places while remaining firmly rooted in the values it was built upon.

Sixteen years ago, the Ronk family experienced the same grief they walk alongside families through every single day. While navigating their own loss, they continued to serve this community with compassion, dignity, and grace — a testament to who they are and what this funeral home stands for.

Following Sammy’s passing, the legacy continued through his son, Samuel Lee Ronk Jr., and today that same legacy lives on with Samuel Lee Ronk III actively involved in serving families. Four generations — Mr. Almo Ronk, Sammy Ronk, Samuel Lee Ronk Jr., and Samuel Lee Ronk III — all bound together by faith, family, and a commitment to caring for others.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Mr. Sammy Ronk. We remember his heart for people, his dedication to this community, and the foundation he and Mr. Almo built — a foundation we continue to build upon nearly 100 years later.

Grief never truly leaves us, but neither does love. And legacies like Sammy’s live on in every family we are honored to serve.

If you have a favorite memory or a funny story about Sammy, we invite you to share it in the comments as we remember and celebrate his life.

Our Family Serving Yours.

❄️🚜 Snow Day at Ronk Funeral Home 🚜❄️

Our elite, part-time snow and ice removal team has been hard at it yesterday and today tackling the parking lot and sidewalks. As you can see… heavy equipment was involved and morale stayed mostly high. 😄

That said, we do want to remind everyone to please use extreme caution if you’re coming by the funeral home this weekend for visitation on Sunday. We’re doing everything we can to get it cleared, but there may still be some snow and a few slick patches hanging around. Take it slow and watch your step.

A big THANK YOU to Samuel and Hank for working out in this bitter cold to help ensure a safe environment for the families we serve. We sure appreciate y’all braving the elements!

Stay warm, be careful, and we’ll see you soon. ❄️🧤
