Today was pure musical magic. ✨ Music has a way of bringing us all together, and our volunteer caroling committee left each facility in tears—in the very best way. For many of our volunteers, this was their first time stepping into an assisted living or memory care community. What might have felt uncomfortable or intimidating quickly turned into joy, connection, and shared song. Residents sang along, shook their jingle bells, and filled the room with smiles.

Moments like today remind us that music therapy shouldn’t be an optional service to glance over—it should be a vital, foundational part of programming in these communities. The impact is real, immediate, and deeply human.

Experiences like this make us want to bring more music and more connection—perhaps quarterly instead of annually (with different music, of course).

Endless thanks to our generous donors, our incredible volunteer carolers, and the facilities for welcoming us with open arms.

Practicing our caroling in this week’s music therapy group! We’re working with clients in the memory care unit, alongside our assisted living residents. I wish you could see their smiles during our sessions, but hopefully mine shows just a glimpse of the impact music therapy can bring.
