This amazing lady in her 50s lost 125lbs after bariatric surgery and had excess overhang that was causing irritation. She had an abdominoplasty with circumferential (360) liposuction and loves her results!

What an amazing week at the Southeastern society of plastic surgeons annual meeting in Orlando!

Started off with a day at Magic Kingdom with my family, listened to some amazing lectures, co-moderated a session with the great Holly Wall, went to a havana nights dinner, caught up with former residents, attendings and mentors. Connected with new people had a great black tie dinner then ended with a relaxing day at the spa.

Can't wait till sesprs 23!

Guess which one is the reconstructed breast!

Clue: she's had radiation

This amazing survivor has had a unilateral mastectomy with tissue expander and subsequent implant based reconstruction and a symmetry breast reduction on the other side. She chose to keep one of her breasts and wanted them to look as similar as possible. She also wanted to save her ni**le and it was oncologically safe to do so.

I am so honored that this amazing woman chose me to get the breasts she wanted without compromising her cancer treatment.

While bilateral mastectomies do increase your chance at symmetry and it is not easy to make a reconstructed breast with implants after mastectomy look like a "real" breast, IT IS possible in some patients and patients can make that choice to keep one breast if they want.

Spot the difference!!

Imagine how she felt after all that weight was taken off her chest!! Took off almost 3kg altogether!! That's over 6 pounds!! A whole baby!!

Breast reduction can be life altering!!!! It can be the difference between a life of debilitating back, neck and shoulder pain, lack of self confidence and one of freedom from feeling weighed down, being able to exercise, wear clothes that fit, finding bras that fit and feeling pain free!!!

This lovely patient of mine had back pain from her large breasts and underwent bilateral breast reduction. She felt like a weight was taken off her chest, her back felt better..and she liked her breasts too.
