Did you know you can use Chinese herbs for facial steaming to help with sinus congestion?

After nearly three weeks of a stubborn head cold, alongside acupuncture and herbal formulas, my practitioner reminded me of something simple and deeply familiar: steaming.

Instant childhood flashback.
When I was congested as a kid, my mom would boil linden and mint, place the bowl on the floor, and have me lean over it with a towel draped over my head. Old-school. Effective. Comforting.

Coming back to this practice now felt grounding—like my body remembered before my mind did. And I’m happy to say I’m almost through the last bits of congestion .

Meanwhile, my Western doctor recommended antibiotics… without even seeing me.
This experience was a gentle reminder that there’s wisdom in traditional practices, especially when they support the body instead of overriding it.
