Last week was winter break and for the first time, I planned almost nothing.
The kids went to basketball camp for a few hours in the morning, and the rest of the day was left to chance!
We watched movies, read books, deep cleaned bedrooms and planned yummy dinners.
We talked about going to the movies, we talked about going to the Y to swim, we talked about ice skating and sledding …. But we never went.
I was waiting for the moment where they would tell me they were bored, but it never came.
Today in the car, Devin said “it’s fun just hanging out together.” 🥹
At that moment, I vowed to myself that I would stop constantly planning things to do. They don’t need it. They don’t need to be entertained all the time.
Sometimes it’s nice for everyone to just rest. Be present with one another. Do nothing.
