Repsher Physical Therapy

Repsher Physical Therapy Albany, NY’s Premier Physical Therapy Office🏆
‘Helping People Over Life's Hurdles' since 1980! Our patients learn they cannot fall while wearing the harness.

Our passion is to provide individualized hands on physical therapy in a calm relaxed atmosphere. Our staff have advanced training and attend continuing education courses on a regular basis. Our patients love the AlterG treadmill which allows them to be unweighted up to 80% of their body weight walking or running while protecting healing tissues. We also utilize a Guldmann safety harness which supports patients while performing balance exercises. The skills learned allow them to progress to safe fall free walking at home. Our newest addition is Deep Tissue Laser Therapy which utilizes therapeutic levels of Laser light to reduce pain and speed up the healing process. This has been effective with patients even after suffering with high levels of chronic pain for years. We are a member of the Hospital of Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network. This allows patients to have their therapy coordinated between the hospital and our office.

On September 9th, while playing volleyball, Spencer suffered a complete ACL tear in his right knee. As a parent to a wheelchair-bound son who relies on him every day, getting back to 100% wasn’t optional — it was essential.

Through thoughtful, personalized rehab and steady support during the tough plateaus, Shane helped Spencer rebuild his strength and confidence.

Today, Spencer is back to carrying his son — something he doesn’t take for granted.

“I’ll be forever grateful to Shane and the entire team at Repsher. I NEVER dreaded my visits.”

💙 Strength is personal. Rehab should be too.

On Friday we had our first Repsher Physical Therapy holiday party at Hank Hudson Brew Pub 🎄🍻
It was great to get everyone together outside the clinic, celebrate the year, and enjoy time as a team. We’re incredibly grateful for this group—for the way they care about each other, our patients, and our office. A big thank you to our families for all of their support as well. Looking forward to many more celebrations together.

✨ 3 Months Post-Op Update ✨

The 3-month mark is where rehab really starts to shift toward getting stronger overall. This phase is about building solid strength with good quality, full-range calf raises—first double-leg, then progressing to single-leg as best as you can. Quality matters more than speed here.

Once that strength is in place, we can start layering in light agility work and controlled impact. Nothing rushed, nothing forced—just steady progress.

And while there’s no hurry, it’s extremely encouraging to already be able to hop and run stairs. Those are big signs that strength, confidence, and capacity are coming back.

Slow, strong, and intentional now = better results later 💪

🏂💨 Snowboard Season: Engage Steeze Mode.
Warm up those legs, fire up the glutes, and keep that core switched ON before you drop in — your body (and your tailbone) will thank you later. 😎❄️
A 3–5 minute dynamic warm-up can cut down stiffness and help you ride longer.

Early-season ski race training is where young athletes build the skills that keep them fast, confident, and injury-free. ❄️⛷️

Key early-season focus:
• Strong hips + core for balance and control
• Clean movement patterns for smoother, faster turns
• Technique-driven power

And a solid warm-up is a must:
• Light movement
• Hip/core activation
• Quick footwork
• Dynamic leg stretches
This helps athletes react better and reduces injury risk on cold early-season days.

Build smart habits now, shine later. 💪⛷️
