Repsher Physical Therapy

Repsher Physical Therapy Albany, NY’s Premier Physical Therapy Office🏆
‘Helping People Over Life's Hurdles' since 1980! Our patients learn they cannot fall while wearing the harness.

Our passion is to provide individualized hands on physical therapy in a calm relaxed atmosphere. Our staff have advanced training and attend continuing education courses on a regular basis. Our patients love the AlterG treadmill which allows them to be unweighted up to 80% of their body weight walking or running while protecting healing tissues. We also utilize a Guldmann safety harness which supports patients while performing balance exercises. The skills learned allow them to progress to safe fall free walking at home. Our newest addition is Deep Tissue Laser Therapy which utilizes therapeutic levels of Laser light to reduce pain and speed up the healing process. This has been effective with patients even after suffering with high levels of chronic pain for years. We are a member of the Hospital of Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network. This allows patients to have their therapy coordinated between the hospital and our office.

Three great patient milestones from the office this week.

Giuliana – ACL Comeback

Giuliana has been working through rehab following an ACL re-injury.

She’s continuing to make steady progress as she works toward getting back on the mound.

⭐ Feature Friday ⭐

Some patients become more than just patients — they become part of the story. ❤️

Today we want to give a very special thank you to Mary. She is one of the very few people who has been with us long enough to receive care in all four Repsher Physical Therapy office locations over the years…something even our team can’t say we’ve done! 😊

For more than 45 years, Mary has trusted us with her care, recovery, and health. That kind of loyalty means more than words can express. Watching her continue to stay active and committed to her well-being has been an inspiration to our entire team.

Mary, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey for over four decades. Your trust, kindness, and dedication are what make our office so special. We are truly grateful to have you as part of the Repsher Physical Therapy family.

Here’s to many more healthy, active years ahead!

Repsher Results: Three great patient milestones from the clinic this week.

Russ – Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement Rehab

Russ wrapped up physical therapy on March 11 after his reverse total shoulder replacement.

When he first started, even giving a high five felt like a lofty goal. Through consistent work and dedication to his rehab, Russ steadily rebuilt his strength and mobility.

Now he’s officially cleared for high fives again. ✋

Great work, Russ!

Andrew – Total Knee Replacement Rehab

Andrew had knee replacement surgery in September, but his recovery was complicated when his rehab was derailed by nerve pain radiating from his back.

When he came to Repsher PT in January, his knee was extremely stiff. After two months of focused rehab, he regained full mobility and can now negotiate stairs with no pain.

Great job, Andrew!

Kathleen – Thoracic Spine / Scapular Pain

Kathleen came in with pain along the inner border of her left scapula that wrapped around her ribcage toward her sternum, along with numbness and tingling in her left arm.

We focused on hands-on therapy to improve her spine mobility and worked through exercises to support her recovery.

Today she is pain-free and back to feeling like herself again.

Great work, Kathleen!

MOVE BETTER WEDNESDAY 💡

One of the most common things we see in physical therapy:

Patients do their exercises perfectly in the clinic… 🏥
but struggle to keep up with them at home. 🏠

Why?

In the clinic you have:
✔️ Accountability
✔️ Structure
✔️ Guidance
✔️ Immediate feedback

At home there are often:
⚠️ Distractions
⚠️ Busy schedules
⚠️ Less motivation
⚠️ Uncertainty about doing exercises correctly

The truth is that most of the progress in rehab happens between visits. 📈

Consistency with your home exercises is one of the biggest factors in getting better and staying better. 💪

Patient Success Monday 💪

Two great patient milestones from the clinic this week.

John – Total Knee Replacement Rehab

John came to Repsher PT determined to get back to his guide work in the Adirondacks. Through consistent rehab and hard work he rebuilt his strength and confidence and is ready to get back out on the lakes and rivers.

Best of luck out there, John!

Sid – Total Knee Replacement Rehab

Sid crushed it.

After his knee replacement, Sid stayed focused every session and today he’s walking without a cane and moving with confidence again.

Rehab isn’t always easy, but Sid proved that dedication pays off.

Great job, Sid!
