Both Equinox Inc. and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health were proud to be represented at the University at Albany’s “Say More: Bringing Visibility to UAlbany’s Student Caretakers” event, an important conversation focused on supporting student caregivers and raising awareness of their unique challenges.

From the resource fair to the panel discussion, this event created space to uplift student voices and connect them with vital community resources. Together, we’re committed to supporting the health and well-being of students both on campus and throughout the Capital Region.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and engaged with us. We look forward to continuing this important work together.

Last Friday, CEO Linda MacFarlane, Board Member Marilyn Pendergast, and Chief Program Officer Christine Rodriguez, representing Equinox as one of four domestic violence shelters invited to participate in the Fresh Start program at the Trailblazer’s Luncheon hosted by the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region.

Community members gathered to celebrate women in leadership and to support survivors rebuilding their lives by generously donating essential personal care items like toiletries, hygiene products, and self-care supplies that will go directly to local individuals.

We are deeply grateful to the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region and everyone who contributed to helping create fresh starts for survivors in our community.

In celebration of Black History Month, Equinox honors the legacy of Whitney M. Young Jr., the visionary civil rights leader whose name and mission continue to inspire the work of our parent organization, Whitney Young Health.

Whitney Young dedicated his life to breaking down barriers and expanding access to education, employment, and vital resources for underserved communities. His leadership helped push the nation forward during one of the most pivotal moments in American history, and his influence continues to inspire progress today.

At Equinox, we are proud to be part of the Whitney Young Health family, carrying that legacy forward through compassionate, community-based services that support individuals and families on their path toward stability, wellness, and opportunity.

Because true community health starts with equity.

This month, we celebrate Black history, Black leadership, and the ongoing work of building a healthier, stronger future for all.
