Dr. Mouzakes has dedicated more than 35 years to Albany Med as a student, resident, surgeon, department chair, and most recently Executive Vice President and Hospital General Director. Dr. Mouzakes will further advance Albany Med Health System’s mission to provide unparalleled care, education, and discovery. We’re proud to celebrate one of our own! Albany Medical Center’s Kelsey O’Driscoll, RN, has been named to the 2026 U.S. Paralympic Alpine Team and will compete at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. An asthma care coordinator in our pediatric clinic on Myrtle Avenue, Kelsey inspires both her patients and colleagues through her dedication to nursing and adaptive skiing. As a member of Team USA, she competes in downhill, Super-G, and giant slalom. Join us in cheering her on as she prepares to represent the United States at the Winter Paralympics starting March 6!

Please join us in congratulating our newest DAISY Award recipient, Kendra Ruszas, RN, from the trauma unit. Kendra was nominated by the family of a patient who was in Kendra’s care for more than two weeks. According to the family, “She brought high energy every day, demonstrated rock-solid competence, and responded quickly and confidently to every request. As our son began to recover, we watched Kendra expertly adjust her approach—encouraging independence where appropriate while always keeping his needs at the center of care.”
