We have some updates to share and a new meeting date to put on your calendar 🤍
Our next Slingbabies meeting will be Friday, May 8 from 10:00–1:00.
We’re changing a few things up in a way that we’re really excited about. Moving forward, meetings will be held at the Guilderland Public Library. It’s been such a wonderful space for us, the staff has been incredibly kind and supportive, and it feels like a location that’s mostly convenient for families across the Capital Region.
We’ll also be rotating between Fridays and Saturdays going forward, but keeping the same 10:00–1:00 time frame to keep things consistent and predictable.
We’re so excited to share that we’ve welcomed a number of new volunteers into Slingbabies. Over the next several months, we’re working toward getting more of our team trained and certified in babywearing so we can continue to grow and better support all of you. This also means we have some new things in the works… so stay tuned.
We’ll also be adding drop boxes across the Capital Region to make returning carriers a bit easier—more details on those locations coming soon.
For anyone newer here, our meetings are a space for fit checks and for borrowing carriers from our lending library. Because attendance and requests have grown (which we love!), we’re going to be a bit more intentional with flow during meetings. When you arrive, we’ll ask that you start with the most pressing need—either a fit check or borrowing a carrier. If time allows, we’ll circle back to help with any additional questions or carriers you’d like to try. Our hope is that as we expand our team and continue to grow meetings, we’ll be able to support more of those extra requests as well.
