April is Stress Awareness Month. Are you managing your stress, or is your stress managing you?

A Roman emperor who survived plagues, wars, and political betrayal kept a private journal on how to stay calm under pressure. Two thousand years later, his advice maps directly onto what we know about heart health.

Our latest blog breaks down 5 Stoic habits anyone can use, and why each one matters for your heart. Link the comments.

This week, we’re celebrating Clinical Laboratory Professionals Week!

Behind every great patient outcome is a dedicated team working quietly behind the scenes, and our lab professionals are a big part of that story. From supporting our providers to helping ensure timely, informed care, their work makes a real difference every single day.

Though they may not always be in the spotlight, their commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and patient care never goes unnoticed. Their expertise helps keep everything moving forward, smoothly and reliably.

If you’re visiting or dropping off specimens this week, we encourage you to take a moment to share your appreciation. A simple thank you goes a long way!

Happy Lab Week to our incredible team, we’re grateful for all that you do!

We are proud to announce that Capital Cardiology Associates, in collaboration with Albany Medical Center's Division of Vascular Surgery, has completed its 50th Barostim implant.

This milestone is a reflection of who we are. Capital Cardiology has always been built on a legacy of innovation, from AI-supported diagnostics and advanced cardiac imaging to leadless pacemakers and minimally invasive structural heart procedures.

We have never been content with the standard of care when a better option exists for our patients.

Barostim is the latest example of that commitment. By stimulating the body's natural baroreceptors, it rebalances the autonomic nervous system, reducing shortness of breath, fatigue, and the daily burden of heart failure without adding more medication.

For patients who have exhausted other options, this is a meaningful path forward. That is exactly the kind of medicine we exist to deliver, right here in the Capital Region.

Most heart problems don’t start with a dramatic moment. They build slowly, through the routines we barely think about. Long days sitting, grabbing whatever is quick to eat, pushing off sleep, carrying stress like it is just part of the job.

It adds up.

The good news is that it works the other way too. Small changes, done consistently, can take pressure off your heart and move things in the right direction without turning your life upside down.

If you have been meaning to pay a little more attention to your health, this is a good place to start.

April is Stress Awareness Month, and it is a good time to take a closer look at how stress may be affecting heart health.

Stress is something most people experience every day, but over time it can contribute to high blood pressure, poor sleep, and increased risk of heart disease. The good news is that small, consistent changes can make a real difference.

Capital Cardiology Associates breaks down how stress impacts the heart and what can be done to manage it.

If something does not feel right, chest discomfort, palpitations, or shortness of breath, do not ignore it. Our Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) clinics offer walk-in care for non-life-threatening cardiac symptoms.

You cut carbs, the weight drops fast—and it feels like it’s working.

But what if that early weight loss isn’t actually fat?

Many low-carb diets lead to quick results, but they’re often difficult to sustain—and the weight can come back just as quickly.

New research shows that diet quality matters more than simply cutting carbs or fat when it comes to long-term health and weight management.

Learn what’s really happening in your body—and how to approach carbs the right way.

Skipping meals might seem like a simple way to cut calories, but it can quietly work against your health over time, slowing your metabolism, reducing key nutrients, and driving late-night cravings.

In our newest patient education article, CCA Registered Dietitian Marissa Hull explains what happens when you skip meals, how to think about meal timing, and why consistency beats restriction every time.

This is Part One of our three-part National Nutrition Month series. Link in the comments.
