Honoring Our Veterans

On Veterans Day, we pause to recognize the courage, service, and sacrifice of all who have worn the uniform of our nation.

At Capital Cardiology Associates, we are especially proud to count among our providers those who have dedicated part of their lives to military service and continue to serve their communities through medicine.

Dr. Kevin Woods served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and as a Staff Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. His leadership and experience continue to guide his work with patients and colleagues alike.

Dr. Lance Sullenberger served for 11 years on active duty as a Major at Walter Reed, where he trained residents and fellows in cardiovascular medicine and earned multiple teaching awards. His dedication to service remains evident in his approach to patient care every day.

On this Veterans Day, we honor them, and all veterans, for their commitment, discipline, and selflessness. Your service protects not only our freedoms but the communities we call home.

From all of us at Capital Cardiology Associates, thank you for your service and your continued example of integrity and compassion.

Caring from the Heart.

Hunger and Heart Health: Understanding Food Insecurity in 2025

Millions of Americans face food insecurity every day, unsure of when or where their next meal will come. Rising grocery prices and changes to assistance programs have made it even harder for families to access the nutritious foods that support overall and cardiovascular health.

At Capital Cardiology Associates, we recognize that food insecurity is not just an economic challenge—it is a health issue that affects individuals, families, and entire communities. This holiday season, we’re joining forces with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and Capital Roots to help provide meals for our neighbors in need.

🗓️ CCA Gives Back Food Drive 2025

📦 Dry and canned goods: November 17–21, 8 AM–4 PM at all CCA locations (Albany, Troy, Clifton Park, and Niskayuna)

CCA Gives Back: Capital Cardiology Supports Global Mission With Lifesaving Donation

At the Glens Falls Medical Mission’s annual Cerveza Shuffle fundraiser in Saratoga Spa State Park, Capital Cardiology Associates donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to support the Mission’s work in Guatemala.

The AED will accompany the team on its October 2025 trip to Nueva Santa Rosa—marking the first time this lifesaving device will travel with the Mission’s medical volunteers.

At Capital Cardiology Associates, we remain committed to delivering the gold standard of cardiac care. Beginning January 1, 2026, our routine inpatient cardiology services will transition from Samaritan Hospital to Albany Medical Center and St. Peter’s Hospital, where our team has a larger, more coordinated presence.

Our Troy office at 2200 Burdett Avenue remains open, and we are working to introduce a new walk-in Enhanced Cardiac Access Clinic to provide faster access to care.

These changes will help us deliver more consistent and comprehensive cardiac services to patients across the Capital Region.
