Hi folks! I’m a retired SP for almost 10 years now. Reaching out for advice/information. I have a friend who asked me for a list of outside-of-school counselors/agencies that provide counseling for kids near Potsdam, for her 9 year old daughter who has ADHD and family issues. I remember years ago that Reachout had a booklet with such a list...does that still exist with current info? Can anyone provide me a list of counselors in this area? Thanks! Feel free to email me at:

I’m so appreciative of any info. You guys rock🤣

Hi everyone- I hope you are all well and at home! Such a crazy time. Amidst the uncertainty one thing I am thankful for is to be home with my family and have some time devoted to catching up on reports!

Here is the latest guidance regarding evaluations. Now I am hoping to hear what to do about annual reviews!

The US Department of Education has released the following guidance related to evaluations and re-evaluations for special education services.

“Additionally, IEP Teams are not required to meet in person while schools are closed. If an evaluation of a student with a disability requires a face-to-face assessment or observation, the evaluation would need to be delayed until school reopens. Evaluations and re-evaluations that do not require face-to-face assessments or observations may take place while schools are closed, so long as a student’s parent or legal guardian consents. These same principles apply to similar activities conducted by appropriate personnel for a student with a disability who has a plan developed under Section 504, or who is being evaluated under Section 504.”
