Dr. Chinyelu Ofodile loves her patients and is passionate about providing exceptional care and superior service. As her career as a hospitalist advanced, Dr. Ofodile took on additional leadership roles and administrative duties. Earlier this year, she was promoted to the position of Chief Medical Officer at Phoebe Sumter. Ever the caregiver, Dr. Ofodile continues to serve our patients by working shifts as a hospitalist. This year Phoebe underwent a thorough compensation analysis which included a review of the pay for every position within Phoebe Putney Health System. Nursing and clinical professionals were included in the most recent phase of the project. The analysis resulted in pay raises for many nurses - on top of recent annual merit increases - and raised initial pay rates for many new hires, whether new graduates or experience nurses. Last week, we had a great time connecting with future nursing professionals at the Nursing Career Fair hosted by the Center for Career Design at Columbus State University! The event welcomed 93 senior nursing students and was held in the Frank Brown Hall Lobby on the RiverPark Camp. This fair created a focused space for meaningful recruitment conversations, allowing employers and soon‑to‑be graduates to explore immediate hiring opportunities and kick‑start their careers in healthcare. We’re grateful for the chance to meet so many talented future nurses and look forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in the field!
