Getting the most out of your doctor's appointments is essential for staying healthy — especially for those with I/DD. 🩺

At each appointment you can ask for accommodations that help you feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire visit. One helpful option? Ask your doctor if you can record your appointment so you can listen again later to make informed decisions at your own pace.

Self-advocacy matters and your voice deserves to be heard! Talk to your care manager for additional resources. 🌟

Braille is essential to access, independence and equality for blind and visually impaired people. It enables education, supports freedom of expression and ensures information is truly accessible — not optional.

On World Braille Day, we recognize braille not just as a system of reading and writing, but as a fundamental tool for human rights and inclusion.

Supporting braille means supporting the autonomy, voices and full participation of blind and visually impaired people in every space. 💖

As we reflect on 2025, we’re grateful for the many moments that brought connection, joy and purpose to our community. From joining Pride celebrations, supporting cost-of-living adjustments and advocating for increased funding, to writing legislators and standing up for the rights of people with I/DD, your engagement made a real impact this year. And alongside it all, the excitement of the New York State Special Olympics Fall Games reminded us of the strength and spirit within our community. ✨

Thank you for being part of a community that shows up, speaks out and inspires — here’s to more moments that make us smile. 💖
