Language that demeans people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities has no place in our communities or from our leaders. The recent use of the R-word is a painful reminder of why inclusion, dignity and respect must remain non-negotiable.

At Care Design NY, we stand with the I/DD community in rejecting language that harms. We urge everyone to choose words that reflect humanity, not hate.
