Dumplings (jiǎozi) are a Lunar New Year tradition — shaped like ancient silver ingots and symbolizing wealth and prosperity for the year ahead.

You’ll need:
1 lb ground pork (or chicken)
1 cup coleslaw mix
2 tbsp soy sauce
Store-bought dumpling wrappers

How to make them:
Mix meat, coleslaw mix, and soy sauce.
Spoon 1 teaspoon into each wrapper and seal with water.
Boil 5–6 minutes or pan-fry and steam until cooked through.

Simple. Symbolic. Meant to be shared.
May your year be filled with abundance, good health, and steady qi.

Enjoy The Lunar Year!

Happy Lunar New Year ✨

Also known as Chinese New Year, this holiday follows the lunar calendar and marks the first new moon of the year — a time for family, renewal, and setting intentions for the cycle ahead. It’s traditionally a moment to clear out the old, honor our ancestors, and welcome fresh energy and good fortune.

A new cycle begins.
May this year bring clarity in your mind, strength in your body, and warmth in your heart.

Let’s move forward with intention.

Friday the 13th!

Buddhism teaches that suffering comes from the mind, not the day.

The opening verses of the Dhammapada say:

“Mind precedes all phenomena. If one speaks or acts with an impure mind, suffering follows. If one speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness follows.”

Friday the 13th!

Confucius wasn’t big on superstition.

Life isn’t shaped by unlucky dates, but by how we act, choose, and respond.
A good life is built through steadiness, integrity, and daily care—not fear of omens.

Luck follows conduct.
Not the calendar.

Friday the 13th!

Daoism doesn’t really believe in “bad luck.”

What feels like misfortune is often just change we’re resisting.
As the Dao De Jing reminds us:

“Misfortune is what fortune depends upon;
fortune is where misfortune hides.”

Nothing stays fixed.
What we label as “bad” may be the very thing that restores balance—if we let it.

n Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Heart governs joy, connection, and the spirit (Shen). When we care for the Heart, our energy feels calmer, warmer, and more at ease.

Try a few heart-nourishing habits this season:
• Start your morning with a warm drink — tea, broth, or warm water
• Eat gently warming foods like oats, squash, dates, and cinnamon
• Take a few slow breaths before bed to quiet the mind
• Create moments of real connection — conversation, laughter, presence
• Rest when you need to — calm is medicine for the Heart

✨ When the Heart is settled, the whole system softens.
