🌈 Every Life Matters 🌈

Did you know:

🌈 LGBTQ+ people face barriers to high-quality health care, including discrimination and limited provider knowledge of their unique health needs

🌈 Transgender people are less likely to be screened for cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer

🌈 Some LGBTQ+ populations are more likely to have cancer risk factors, including cigarette smoking, heavy alcohol use and excessive body weight

🌈 The cancer burden for LGBTQ+ people is unknown because data on sexual orientation and gender identity are not routinely collected in health care settings

🌸 What an incredible day at the walk yesterday! 🌸 We were honored to have been able to be a part of a day so filled with hope, unity, and purpose – all in support of a future free from breast cancer. We partnered with the and helped their amazing team educate 411 people on the importance of cancer screenings, and get them signed up for mammograms in the coming year. Survivorship. Advocacy. Screenings. When we all come together there is nothing we can’t accomplish! Jill and Laisa from GCR CSP were happy to have been able to volunteer this morning at the Spook Out Cancer run to benefit the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network at Saratoga Spa State Park. ACS CAN helps us keep our life saving program funded and it was our pleasure to be able to give of our time to support this important and impactful cause.
