ANA-New York is the professional association for registered nurses in the state. Launched in December 2012, ANA-NY is dedicated to promoting excellence in nursing practice, seeks to improve the quality of health care services, and promote professional and leadership development of registered nurses. A constituent member of the American Nurses Association, nurses who join ANA-NY will have membership in and receive benefits from both the state and national organizations. We are an organization that advocates for all nursing-providing a voice for all nurses across all specialties and practice settings. We are actively recruiting nurses to join our new organization to help shape it's purpose , activities, and work on behalf of professional nursing in the state.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) has reaffirmed its strong support for evidence-based immunizations following today’s CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) vote to discontinue the universal hepatitis B birth-dose recommendation.

For more than 30 years, the hepatitis B vaccine has been a cornerstone of newborn protection, preventing over 95% of infections when administered as recommended. ANA emphasizes that any change to vaccination policy must be guided by robust scientific evidence, transparent review, and input from frontline health professionals.

As the most trusted profession, nurses play a vital role in educating families, supporting vaccine confidence, and advocating for practices that protect infants, families, and communities.
