Community Health Care Services Foundation - CHC Mission: Inform and educate health care providers on issues and strategies relating to the provision of high quality health care services. (HCP).

Founded in 1989, CHC was established as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education and research foundation dedicated to service home care organizations and their employees. CHC is an affiliate of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. CHC is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors representing owners, administrators, managers, clinicians and others from the full spectrum of community care service agencies. Curriculum development, meeting planning, program execution and delivery of CHC’s workshops, conferences and special events are coordinated by CHC’s professional staff. CHC faculty includes skilled experts and consultants, local, regional and national home care and business professionals and university faculty who provide education and training on traditional home care, leadership and business topics, as well as new and innovative subject matter of importance to the industry. Grants and research projects secured by CHC expand the delivery of home care education and training to ensure high quality delivery of services. Research provides essential information about the industry and grants support implementation of new technologies, educational programs, best practices, and products and services to improve care in home and community-based settings.

Millions of New Yorkers depend on home care to maintain their health and quality of life, and the key to providing this care is a strong home healthcare workforce. The Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) at SUNY Albany's School of Public Health is conducting research to track the challenges faced by the home healthcare workforce due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a shortage of workers, and heightened competition for workers within and outside the healthcare sector.
