Prost!! 🙌🏼 Yesterday, I received the most extraordinary gift… a second chance at life!

Special thanks to the selfless act of a young woman in Germany who on March 11th donated her stem cells, giving me a second lease on life and a newfound sense of hope for the future ♥️

I am feeling well and am overwhelmed by all the love, prayers, and support we received 🥰 Know that your prayers were felt and that your support is making a tremendous difference in my recovery. It means so much to my family and I!

Today is a new day, day +1!! As I continue to recover from the intense chemo regimen leading up to the transplant yesterday, we pray that my counts dip quickly and quietly. I’m ready to be on the other side of this. I’m ready to go home ♥️

Day -1… finished chemo this morning 🕺🏻

Tomorrow is Day 0. The BIG day!! Transplant day! The transplant is as simple as a blood transfusion. No surgery or anything like that. Life after transplant, not as simple, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. One day at a time.

Missing my littles. Hope you get outside to enjoy some sunshine today 💗

Day -4… the sun!! ☀️Golden hour was a beaut today! Even the thick dust and grime on my hospital window couldn’t stop the glow 🙌🏼 Learning to slow down and appreciate these beautiful moments as they come and as they are.

I’m all settled into my new “pod” aka the room I’ll be in for the next 4-6 weeks. It’s climate controlled and quiet. I started chemo Saturday and will be on a continuous drip for a few more days. I’m good… I’m holding onto the good as tight and for as long as I possibly can because I know next week is coming and my counts will drop again, and I’ll feel… well, not good. But, new stem cells are coming too✨ I have so much to be grateful for!! We’re one day closer to being on the other side of this. I can do this.

Next stop… Boston! We have a donor and a date🙌🏼 We are very grateful to be moving forward. Thank you to everyone who swabbed, spread the word, and has been a part of this crazy journey.

I'll be starting my next, hopefully last 🤞🏼, round of chemo tomorrow to prep for transplant next week. Your prayers, messages, and support have been a true blessing to my family and me 🤍 We can't thank you enough. I'm feeling hopeful and am ready to fight this.

Special thanks to our sweet family members who have taken in our furry children and treated them as their own during this time. While the kids love the AI photo updates of Tucker and Eli in the hot tub, playing cards, and ice skating… this one was just the laugh we needed this morning, as Mama headed off to the hospital 🩵

31 is going to be hard to beat; a unit of blood, a cup of vanilla ice cream and a happy birthday serenade from the nurses 🤪

Grateful for another trip around the sun! Grateful for all the blood donors out there keeping the fueled. Thankful for all of your sweet messages and continued prayers 💗

PS. I have acquired quite the hat collection. I regrettably can’t remember who sent me this particular one, but know that I pretty much live in it and if you see me on the rare occasion out and about, I’ll probably be wearing it. I love it! Thank you 💗

A member of the Poor Thom's family needs our help! We're hosting a drive to find people willing to join the national bone marrow registry. If you are between 18-55 years old, come by the tavern any Saturday in February between 2:00-5:00 PM to get your cheek swabbed to find out if you could be a potential match. It takes under 10 minutes. Everyone who stops by during the drive times will be entered into a raffle for a Poor Thom's gift card. Note: the Tavern opens at 4:00 PM, as usual.
