*Most of the time when patients are struggling with making progress, it is simply because they are not putting in the necessary time needed with their home exercises. It’s really that simple. If you do the work, there will be positive results.

Post cupping treatment

Cupping is a manual therapy technique that uses small suction cups to stretch the soft tissues. When soft tissues are healthy and flexible, the layers are able to slide and glide with movement. However, when tissues become restricted, they can lose their elasticity and the layers can become adhered to one another. Cupping is a method that can reintroduce tissue glide.

The red spots represent areas of restriction, the more restricted the tissue, the greater the reaction as evidenced in this patient’s upper back versus the lower back marks.

A glimpse into the home of a PT…
People often think that because I’m a physical therapist I don’t get injured, but I definitely do. Between my job, exercising and dancing, I put my body through a lot. So, when I feel a pain issue starting, I stop drop and roll!
This holiday season, give your loved one the best gift of all- a can of tennis balls! They will thank you!

The half pigeon is my favorite glute stretch. This stretch is great for managing hip, low back, pelvic and knee pain. The gluteal area can get very tight and is often a contributing factor to these pain issues. Check it out!!
